I have 73 games from the PS2-Current Era on my shelf, and 4 Playstation 1 games.
They are:
Final Fantasy VIII(that's 8)
Vagrant Story
Xenogears
Final Fantasy Tactics
I also sell games back rather often to gamestop. My most recent sell was GTAIV, which I got 33 dollars for, and with which I purchased Eternal Sonata and The Darkness.
My most recent purchase, however, was Lost Odyssey off of Ebay, which arrived on Thursday.
I also recently traded my Wii plus 8 games for an Xbox 360 with 2 games(which I don't count as being on my shelf (forza 2 and marvel game) cause I shall never play either one). Those games would have fortified my collection a bit more. Unfortunatly, my number is in a constant state of flux with all the new releases.
I currently only have 4 DS games, for instance, but have beaten about 17 over the course of the system, and simply sold the ones I no longer play, back to gamespot.
As you can tell, I chose being a thrifty gamer and having the maximum gaming experiences, over having a complete and infalliable collection.
...that said, my collection kicks butt and I would put it up against most other JRPG heavy collections as an equal and an example of the must play games on the PS2, Xbox, 360, and Gamecube.
....and ironically I no longer own either game in my game collection, as they went with my Wii.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
