end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

You mean GameBoy Advance? I'd find it a lot more likely that they'd be putting those on VC at some point due to a whole host of reasons (most of all because Nintendo likes money and they make a lot of it re-selling you the same games over and over and over).

Nope, not comming! Nintendo isn't releasing any GBA-games any more... And, Wii doesn't have a slot on which you can connect a 'Gameboy-player'. VC-downloads are inevitable though!
