Yea, but somebody can't see where serious facts end and humour begins. Myself I like them also because of this, seeing people taking serioulsy and literally the most apocalyptic and over the top parts is hilarious

Anyway, just to take seriously the serious fundaments of this article, "hardcore" is really seeing its share shrinking in favour of "casual", but it's still a huge and appetizing market, perhaps one effect in the future will be that hardcore team will be forced to keep a stricter control on development expenses, another will be the need to choose projects more carefully, especially if the cost estimate is huge, and in the short term we'll see also a reduction of hardcore projects till better and more productive development tools and acquired experience will start to help reducing costs.

Malstrom is on a whole nother' level when it comes to his views on Nintendo's status. If he were a regular poster here on VGChartz, there would be no need for more than 3 posters on a topic. He would answer the question it in mind-numbing detail. I guess its a good thing he isn't here LOL

I wonder how old that guy is?

I think over 40. In one of his articles ,"Theory of Cycles", he explain how his gaming cycle is the "Table Top" one ( late '70-'80 ).

Malstrom articles are not for everyone. The average fanboy would never read his articles and try to debunk his arguments. They would just asume he is a Nintendo fanboy and ignore it. One time I posted one article and got this nonsense from an angry fanboy:

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?start=50&id=3045

"Sean Malstrom obviously has no clue how Microsoft works.  If Microsoft listened to the Sean Malstroms of the World there'd be no Microsoft Server or Microsoft Office or Microsoft Sql Server or any of the others now very profitable markets they got into where they lost money and had naysayers at the start.  Hell I could see Sean Malstrom telling Apple not to release the Ipod because some of their past attempts at hardware that weren't mac related failed horribly.  He obviously looks at the short term and doesn't see the long term otherwise he'd see it's ridiculous to think Microsoft would give up now when their efforts are finally starting to pay off.

As for that "anonymous individual" I don't trust the words of anyone who hides in anonymity and doesn't have the guts to come forward with his real identity and defend his claims.  For all we know he could just be a fanboy who's never even been a game journalist".

I want to know more about the three tiers of the Blue Ocean strategy.

What are the other ones?

I'm actually DISGUSTED that people are literally CRYING over how gaming is "over".

Hmmmmm..

He already told us the first one: the aggressive growth stage.

As for the second and the third, I guess he will tell us soon.

Work in progress for now...

The only thing I don't see as being believable about this is that Nintendo showing off a new DS this E3. It's simply doing too well to make sense to introduce a new model.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!
