Second best original game on the wii. (RE4 is a port)

It sold pretty good I think for being a pretty challenging game that most kids won't be able to beat and most 35+ adults won't have patience to play.

It sold over 1 mil, that's pretty damn good to me.

BTW, is Super Metroid on the VC yet?

I think Rol summed it up pretty good. And to add to that, the series is just too hard for the "hardcore" gamers today.

It would deserve better sales than it has had, but since you compared it to Mario and Zelda, it wouldn't deserve as good sales as them. But, when looking Metroid series sales numbers, there's actually nothing to complain about.

It deserves better sales, but yeah it's too hardcore for a lot of people. I am glad to have beat the game, and will go for hypermode difficulty later between two mario kart wii sessions.

what most said. To add to it there was like 0% advertising for metroid prime. So how are none metroid fans ment to understand what the game is about.

All people relaly know is mario and zelda. Metroid name hasn't really been hyped like the other two.

Metroid is awesome, we can be happy as it's selling 1 million and above...
maybe it deserves more, but it's sellling super, if you think that Zack and Wiki or No Mores Heroes may not even reach 500 000!!

Actually Cobretti2, the 1st MP had a lot of advertising for a Nintendo game at the time. Rol and disolitude have basically summed up why. It doesn't help that it's made by a western developer and it's shooter element alienates anyone who's not into western games.

You can be happy that you HAVE sales figures (and those for MP are not too shabby imo). I probably won´t ever get to know how many copies some of my most favourite games, e.g. Monkey Island 1&2, sold. By the way: The wish for even better Nintendo sales seems a bit decadent these days

I guess that's part of it. People see how the other Nintendo games are selling and the lack of "mature" "hardcore" games on the wii and wonder why MP isn't selling like other nintendo titles. It's not so much as these fans think the game should have better sales undeservingly, but that in their eyes the game has a higher caliber of quality and creativity across the board than most people realize or that a lot of people don't even realize it exists. Still I'm more than happy with the sales of the MP games and think the non-MP Metroid games probably sold great. Though some aren't tracked outside of japan on vgchartz so I'm not certain.
