Forums - Nintendo - First Footage of The Conduit

Looks quite good, though I find it funny that Nintendo fans are excited by this when you all seem to call every FPS released on HD consoles generic.

Context matters, unless you just have an axe to grind.

A search for FPS on Xbox 360 yields 27 results, the biggest of which are Halo 3, CoD4 and Gears of War.

A search for FPS on PS3 yields 18 results, the biggest of which are CoD4, Resistance, and Call of Duty 3.

A search for FPS on Wii yields 5 results, the biggest of which are  Red Steel, Call of Duty 3, and MoH:H2. The other two Wii titles aren't even released. I guess nobody has felt that Far Cry: Vengeance was even worth adding to the database.

So that wraps up why Conduit on PS360 would be generic, while the same title on Wii is worthy of excitement.

I guess sort of how Tales of Symphonia would have been niche on the PS2, but was a hit on the GC. Although the PS2 Tales games (including a port of Symphonia in Japan) did sell well.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Tales of has an easier time of getting hype on nintendo consoles.  The Playstation 2 was filled with a ton of JRPGs already

Which is what I meant, and what we mean about Conduit in terms of FPS.

So your saying Conduit will sell because theirs really nothing serious to compare it to?

I cant wait till the Wii user base hits 120 million so every game can be a million seller.

By then we will at least know no one bought it to watch Dvds >.>

Granted you can browse the web on it.

I'm begining to get REALLY freaked out here - I just realized over the last 2 weeks about 9 different
people have come up to me and brought up how they can watch youtube on the Wii.

The presented it like as if it was some amazing thing never done before, am I missing something here?

Well, I'm a PC gamer and have probably played more FPS games in my life than 90% of the members on this board and I am interested.  Hardly sold, but interested.  I do think it looks rather generic, but if the weapons are fun, the gameplay is good, and it has local and online multiplayer I'll buy it just because I enjoy FPS games with the Wiimote (something which I can't enjoy with dual analog, and love with the mouse and keyboard).

I so hope they'll manage to finish this game without screwing SOMETHING up...

I was going to post something, but this is exactly what I was going to say, so I'll just agree with Naz.

looks ok, nothing mindblowing. But its a good start, i suspect wii games will get better looking games as they blow this generation away.

Yep,once developers start trying harder you could exspect games equivalent to some 1st gen ps360 graphics. This I would say looks as good as CoD 2 except for resolution.

Not even close, but it looks alright for a Wii game.

That trailer wasn't exactly impressive in any way, but it's definately a step up from that god awful Medal of Honour game that everyone likes for some reason.

I hope they fix those sound effects atleast. Seriously, what the hell? lol.

Watch it again and think of it as a spiritual successor to Goldeneye and tell me what you think.

 That's what I was thinking!

I guess it doesn't look too bad for a Wii game and I got a 'National Treasure' vibe off that one part with the symbol on the wall.
