With all these GTA > OoT and OoT>GTA threads these days, does it really matter anymore?

There are so many things wrong with grankings and metacritic:
i.e the quality of the reviewers they include in the score is iffy AND the number of reviews a game gets varies greatly, I mean look at how many reviews there were for OoT compared to GTA4. On top of that look at the straggering amount of reviews for nintendo games compared to the other two platforms, most recently SMG (with a whopping 70 reviews).

For me the best game ever is FF8, but you won't see that top many (if any) all time greatest games lists, but I'm not going to make a thread about it..

Care factor? 0%. Thats like saying the game with the lowest ranking is the worst game of all time. Probably not true. And who cares about game rankings anyway. Only desperate fanboys do.
To tell you the truth, according to gamerankings, the most impressive game would be SMG or Metroid Prime. They had alot of reviews and still maintain a very high avg. OoT only had 32 reviews. Bet you if it had more it might get lower just like how the GTAIV did. Maybe not. But I think SMG has the most impressive GR score.

we all know Final Fantasy VII is the greatest game of all time.. so what are these rankings worth?.. not much..

Only Sony fanboys think that VII is the best Final Fantasy. Real Final Fantasy fans know that the best is Final Fantasy VI. That is a fact.

As tired as that argument is, it's a lot better than this nitpicking of .001 percent.

I'd also like to point out that the 360 version went up since the last thread about this. Whoever reviewed the game for 360 and gave it a 100 didn't even have box art in the review. It's just a fan website. Meanwhile, some other nameless reviewer gives the PS3 versin a 8.8 out of 10. Hence the change in reviews. We'll see where it ends up, but when you start getting reviewers you've never heard of, I'm not sure it matters anymore.

So you state that I haven't played the Final Fantasy's before VII?... isn't it foolish to guess like that?..

 Who gives a shit whether the dude (or dudette) has 50 posts, 50,000 posts. Seriously, people who care about post count need to take a step back and look at their life.
