After this slow leak of info from the Dojo, seeing all the unlockable characters, items, ATs, etc at once is going to be quite a shock...and I wish there was some way for me to find them out myself while playing through the game. But that would require me to shut off my internet at home and work for 6 weeks...ain't gonna happen.

Yes, a non-japanese Character from a western publisher.  Especially for those poor Europeans who have to wait even longer.  But what character is Nintendo related and would work well in Brawl....? How about a Rabbid?!  Now where did I ever come up with that idea?

I know how hard this is going to be (trust me!) but just do your best to stay out of all Smash-related discussion (like this thread) and check the Dojo yourself each day.

Why should I wait for it to be translated into Finnish when I speak English?

Dunno if you're into this, but you could try importing it, maybe?  Then you would only get it a day or two after us...

Wiis aren't region free.  To import he would have to hack his Wii, which would mean he couldn't play online.

Lol, as if that was going to happen. The only languages that most games come in are English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.I saw some kids playing Motorstorm at a store once, and it had Finnish text. That was probably the only time I've ever seen a console game in our lovely language. Console game manuals and some PC games are in Finnish, but the Engrish made by the Japanese is nothing compared to how bad the translations are.

I realise using Finnish as an example isn't relevant to your point, but I would argue that European release delays are more about the paper work related with releasing in dozens of different countries at once (and lack of respect for the market) than the time it takes the translate stuff. Didn't the US version of Super Paper Mario have all the languages the European version does, even though Euro release was delayed by over 6 months?

The lure of Smash is too great, I'm not gonna even bother trying to avoid every Smash topic...the topics will be all over the homepage, all over Digg, people will be IMing me about secrets...there's no point in resisting.

edit:  This is definitely a big reason why I hate the delay.  I wouldn't care if it was Mario Galaxy or Metroid...those don't have the juicy secrets like Brawl does...and if I had only had to wait a week or two after the Japan release, that'd be fine...but 5 weeks?  I'm definitely going to know everything going in, and that'll ruin a little bit of the fun. 

Anyone going to hide from the internet for 6 weeks till they find out this stuff of their own? I'd try but I know that I would fail :(
