Meh update. Im glad they did all of that in one update though and not 6.

A number of items from past Smash games appear in this one as well. But, of course, there are naturally many people who have never played any of those games. And even if you have, I still think I ought to explain these.

It’s not all of them, but I would like to introduce a few.

These are just some of the items that intensify the slapstick nature of this game. You must master them all!

THE UPDATE HAPPENED? Is it happening an hour earlier 'cuz of daylight savings?

So Sakurai wants to play this game, huh? For tomorrow I predict "Old characters," in which he shows the returns of Mr. Game & Watch, Luigi, and Captain Falcon!

I have a feeling there is only one more returning franchise that hasn't been revealed. My guess is G&W. I think Captain Falcon will be dropped from the game.

That could be why we now have a Mario Kart stage to replace the F-Zero stage... but we DID get a F-Zero logo when they announced Samurai Goroh... He's gotta come back! Falcon was so bad he got cloned! They'd get rid of Ganondorf before they'd get rid of Falcon!

ARGH!  People please don't start this up again.  Captain Falcon's franchise icon was already revealed so that means he's returning.  I can't keep doing this guys... every week you say "xxxx is being dropped."  Please for the love of god look up the franchise icons post.  I'm really tired of having to explain over and over again why Game & Watch and Captain Falcon are returning. 

See it?  Already revealed.  Every franchise icon has character representation except for the Smash Bros. Logo and the Nintendo DS logo.  I'm not going to go through this whole thing again.  If I Love Bacon has the patience to drag the franchise icons post back up then he can explain it to you more in depth...

I agree with Zorro. They haven't shown us any old characters in a long time, and they could just give us a bunch at once. Probably not in a single entry, but two or three returnees in one day shouldn't be too much.
