I'll be a bit more conservative than you, and say 10 million. Guaranteed best selling fighting game of all time. Solid chance for best selling non-bundled game this gen, but that's pushing it a bit.

I agree, the first time I saw the Super Smash Bros commercial for the N64, i laughed like crazy!! I would really, really hope they would make the SSBB commercial similar to that.

No. It has not been confirmed until today that Wi-Fi battling would be included in SSBB. That is why this is such a big deal. The only thing they confirmed was that it would include some sort of online functionality would be included. That could have been anything that had to with Wiiconnect 24.

That's not true at all. The only thing that was announced was "Some Wi-Fi functionality will be implemented." A lot of people jumped to a huge conclusion that this meant online battle modes. It deffinitely did not mean that. This is an announcement, and a huge one at that.


 It was. The director confirmed that he would include online, even if he felt it wasn't the best experience. He said that months ago. It's in one of ign's previews for the game. Again, you didn't see it because it got so little coverage.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I am sorta excited, sorry.

SSBM is actually my favorite game of all time and I mentioned it as such in the 'emotional games thread' because it was such a huge game for me in college and actually made me new friends. I still play that game all the time with my brother. At family parties I play with all of my cousins who range in age from 7 - 24. That game was just so perfect to me.

NOW THEY GO BEYOND PERFECTION! How is that possible?!?!?!? People at Smash boards and even some people here are already complaining. I want to punch anyone who complains in the mouth. Almost all of those people thought it would have no online play anyway. This can be nothing but a FANTASTIC announcement for everyone. Wowwowowowowow.

To whoever asked how much you would pay for this game now, I would honestly say around $300. If it were in a store right now and that's what it would cost I wouldn't even think twice. This is THE reason to buy a console for me. I have gotten hundreds of dollars worth of entertainment out of SSBM and I expect even more out of SSBB now.
