In Wrecking Crew for the NES, on certain levels, if you hit the bombs in a certain order quickly, the Golden Hammer will appear. It lets you move and break faster, as well as having the special property of allowing you to float across floors if you mash the button while moving, exactly like the one in Brawl appears to work.

Sounds fine to me...people complain that the hammer is already strong enough...well you think maybe it's weaker in this game? Things can change, ya know.

I guess that answers it.

Of course, if you have a problem with any items you just have to turn it off.

I thought the hammer was great. It was an item that everyone had to scramble for and could turn around a match really fast for a come back. Also, it provided more humor fodder when the hammer head fell off and you could throw it back in their face. All that work to get the hammer for nothing or getting a hit of on them which knocked them off the stage unable to get back. hahaha. Also seeing everyone scramble away kind of spiced up the game a bit from the intense monotony.

I wouldn't call the rest of the game "intense monotony" whatever that means...but it is nice to switch things up in rounds sometimes.

That said, the hammer was one of the only items I was fine with turning off...it's just too damn powerful...and it instantly turns the user into a jackass for picking it up.
