I'm working full-time right now in another city, so that's already about 13 hours of my day taken up including the commute, and on top of that I have a university Summer course I'm doing from home, so I wouldn't be able to do it for a while (much as I'd love to!).  If anyone wants to necropost my two old threads ('official vgc brawl tournament' and 'brawl tournament voting thread') and get that started, and tally up all the votes, I'd have no problem with that.  Just agree on a date (preferably after the European launch), PM it to me along with tally updates every so often, and I'll update the OP of both threads.  Be sure to keep sending me the updated list of competitors, too (myself included, of course ).

Also, I like his idea of having a judge that kills themself off at the beginning of the match--then we get an unbiased view of who won, cheated, etc.  Is there a way to have both stock and time?  Cuz if we did 3-life, 3-minute matches we could save vids, someone could watch in between matches and double-check it was a fair match, and then post the victors of each round in the thread, along with who their next opponent will be.

Why is Pokemon Stadium 2 banned? It is no worse than Pokemon Stadium. Mario Circuit, Halberd, and Port Town as counter picks confuses me as well since they have random damage elements. It saddens me that Spear Pillar is banned. There is a laundry list of reasons why it needs to be banned from a tournament of course, but it still makes me sad.

i would set a 3min timer except some matches require far more time than 3. trust me. i will be recording the matches that i observe and i ask everybody to do the same.

pkmn stadium 2 is banned for obvious reasons. the air mode prevents people from jumping correctly. the ice mode prevents people from stoping correctly. the moving belt mode..........is obvious. the only mode that is good is the dirt mode.

I guess I can understand Pokemon Stadium 2 then. Still most of your list seems fairly arbitrary. Mario Circuit is allowed but as at least two of the elements Onett is banned for. Green Greens has random wind gusts pushing you all over the stages, but that is exactly the kind of behavior that gets Pokemon Stadium 2 banned. And I can't even think of one reason to ban Temple other than it is kinda big. This is all academic though since I can't participate in this contest on account of being out of the country when it takes place.

I'm almost interested in this, but there are just so many restrictions that I'm not sure if it's worth the effort, all the various laser lock whatever it is. Why are so many stages banned? Is this really what official tournaments are like? Cause I'll be honest, I'm getting a little disillusioned here.

I have no idea if I'd be doing any of that stuff or not (main = kirby) and if i come up against that stuff, I just file it all under: "shit to watch out for if you don't want your ass kicked"

also, since when can you pause an online battle? I don't recall ever seeing that option, but maybe I just missed it. Usually when I try to pause it just gives me the option to drop out of the game, but doesn't pause the game at all.

I'm not sure if I'll be popping in on this or not... no clue what my schedule is going to be like and I've had about 0 practice time. I'm more into No More Heroes and some Zelda Minish Cap right now.
