Forums - Nintendo - IGN interviews Koji Igarashi on the new castlevania and the Wii

What if Castlevania Wii looks like Pitfall Wii, just with Simon Belmont instead of Pitfall Harry!?

Ok, nevermind that... I shouldn't say such things!
IGA would be out of his mind if he made a Castlevania game even remotely similar to Pitfall

ROFL, a "surprise" for the Wii connect thing? :D Come on, just announce you're working on Castlevania Wii :P

Also, I'd love a 3D Castlevania if they don't screw it up.

Also, they should make a SotN 2.

No. Some classics should just stay stand-alone classics. Another game with Alucard as protaganist would be cool, maybe. But naming a game as a sequel to SotN would not improve the quality of the game at all and would only tarnish the impeccable image of the original.

Can't wait for Castlevania Wii though; even if it's 3D I'll give it a whirl. The one on N64 really wasn't as bad as everyone says, I thought it was sweet, albeit not on anywhere close to the same level as SotN.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Oh no! 3D!? NOEEEEEESssssssssssssssssssss!!!!

Anyway, hope Castlevania gets a Wii release, cause who am I kidding I'll buy it if it's 4d.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Glad to hear others have enjoyed the 3d Castlevania on N64. I was starting to feel lonely.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (the second one on N64) is a fantastic game--I'd be thrilled if a new 3D version was anything like that one (but since Iga disowned the N64 titles, I think he'll likely to continue to fumble with the third dimension a la the last two on PS2/Xbox).

How big are the DS games? Do you suppose they could just be ported onto the Wii Ware service?

Huh, you make an interesting comment here: the largest, current, DS game weighs in at 512 Mbits (64 MB)--and the largest file size allowed on WiiWare is 320 Mbits (40 MB). That said, I'm not actually sure what size any of the CV DS games weigh in at, but I seriously doubt they are of the 512 Mb variety.

This suggestion also led me to the thought that the Wii option on one of the 'oops, you weren't supposed to see that' screenshots might be an option for 'remote play' on the Wii: upload your game to the Wii's internal memory and play from the DS on a big screen (without the need for a GBA Player-type device).

But I certainly think you have a feasible idea here, at least for the previous DS games in the series (I don't think there's any chance of them potentially cannibalizing the newest CV DS with a simultaneous release on WiiWare, though).

@Parokki

Dawn of Sorrow is 19mb and Portrait of Ruin is 24mb.
