Since they first launched I have constantly heard how only the lower price was driving the Wii’s success. That as soon as the PS3 or XBox came down closer in price, that would be the end of the Wii. Maybe not. I went to two of the leading retail sources and to my surprise found out that price parity had already been reached because of the Wii only being available as a bundle. A persistent shopper can find places where it's sold unbundled making the Wii cheaper. But the fact remains that many retailers have found that they can price gouge for the Wii and it’s still their best seller.

It's similar to whenever I see FREE DIRT on CraigsList.  I'm compelled to pick it up because it's free.

That's right Rol. That's why Myth Makers Kart Racing is outselling Mario Kart Wii. It is cheaper. MK Wii might be the higher quality product, but MMKR sells more because it's cheaper. It's all about the price point. Soon no one will buy the Wii because that crappy product is the same price as the better systems.

What a comeback! I'm about to make a bold prediction. By the end of this fiscal year the GC will have outsold the PS2. Nobody thought that was possible but now GC is above 70 million LTD already.

In all seriousness though this won't change any minds. A few bundles at some places aren't enough. People have been paying absurd prices for Wii bundles on eBay and craigslist for months. Until the official MSRP of a Wii

And dont forget all the extra nunchucks and wiimote people need to buy to really get the full potential of multiplayer.

I payed 765$ for my Wii +3 extra nunchucks and Wiimotes.

I payed 700$ for my PS3(40Gig).

I payed 550$ for my Xbox360(Premium).


Wow it sure is expensive here in Sweden

And you people complain about PS3 costing 450$, but then again I dont know  how much the average salary are for US citizens

@Rol: Haha. I just bought a pack because it's price ended with 2 cents (we use rounding to closest 5 cents), so i got the pack 2 cents cheaper! What a bargain.

@Grampy: It actually has never been about the price. It sells because of its software.
Look how the 360 sells in Europe, it had a good pricecut, 360 Arcade now being 199€, 50€ cheaper than the Wii and is it outselling Wii.

I don't think this will change many minds(but it would)
everybody thinks the Wii is popular because of it's price, maybe the
price increases the sales but if the price was the reason do you
think a LOT of people would be buying it for a very high price?
(When i was looking for my Wii the lady at Gamespot told me that
if i found one i'd be very lucky, because he sold hers at $500)

Wii will not see a price cut and it will still win.
