Forums - Sales - Spanish PS3 Sales (El Pais)

This article says there have been 615,000 PS3 sold in Spain. They don't give a source, so I assume it's from Sony and shipped. El Pais is a very respectable Spanish newspaper. The article is from today.

El Pais

Edit:

Actually, it could be sold. Their Shipped target through Q1 2008 was 637,000 with 587,000 of those being sold though to consumers. It's quite useful to know that Sony expects 50,000 shipped PS3s to be in or on their way to Spanish stores at any one time.

I remember an AC Nielsen study putting the PS3 at around 410k at the end of 2007, maybe those numbers were pretty accurate afterall?

The article doesn't give a date or specified if shipped or sold, but if it's sold it would probably be through April at the least. If it was shipped then the number's from Sony, and they wouldn't give 6 week old shipped data, they'd give the most up to date data available, so it would be for sometime in May. Going by their forecasts my thoughts are this is probably sold to consumers from the most recently available GfK data, ie some time in May. If it's shipped then they missed their target by a large amount.
