Forums - Gaming - Which of the three big console companies is the most likely to quit?

I'd say none of them but that's not what your question's asking.

If any of the three is most likely to give up it's Microsoft , their console has made them at leadt $7 debt , their console is constantly being outsold by it's rivals Microsoft & Nintendo , Microsoft don't have nearly as much development resources as Nintendo and Sony therfore the future differentiation of the XBOX 360 will involve alot of moneyhatting on microsoft's part which = most cost's = less porfitability.

i can see sony quiting next generation if the ps3 doesnt atleast sell 30 million but microsoft will stay after that even to just try to crush nintendo and nintendo will never go

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

Nintendo are the least likely to quit. Microsoft are the most likely to quit- they've lost billions and are being outsold badly by the other two.
Sony- somewhere in the middle, although I'd prefer it if they never quit- I'd take PlayStations over Xboxes and Nintendo consoles any day.

None of them are going anywhere. In 20 years, we will have all three in gaming. MS might need to find something other them make OS's by then however, as Apple is expected to own 50% of the laptop market in the US in 2009.

At the rate Apple is going, they could take over the OS market in 5-10 years. If that's the case, MS has this gig, and it's Applications devision to make it's money.

MS by far . Sony will probably make some good ammount of $ at the end of the generation . Nintendo has allready tons of $$$ so they are out of the question again ...

Microsoft is the most likely to quit, because their main reason to enter the game console market was to stop Sony's dominationzzz and to annoy Sony by just being a block in the road. Dominating the game console market was never Microsoft's intentions. Microsoft has only just started to make profits from console market following 6 years of billion dollar losses for console gaming division.

Didn't Sony just record a billion dollars in losses for the year? I would say that they would be the most likely to quit the business. They don't have the resources of Microsoft nor do they specialize to the degree that Nintendo does.

The Xbox brand is a marketing expense for microsoft, I think they realized they needed something to get themselves and other people passionate about. They are making money too, and quitting while you're ahead is not a smart move. They've built the brand so why quit now when the going is getting good?

Tease.

No, the only reason MS entered the market was to make money. It's the only reason they do anything. As for there loses, yes, they lost a ton of money, but they did that for reasons they never have to worry about again. Generating IP's and a brand name.

MS is the most likely. That said, I don't think any of them are going anywhere soon and I'm quite glad tbh. I don't like monopoly (the board game rocks though!), look at how horrible a product Windows really is or the insane game and console prices in the NES days (with inflation, NES games would around 200$ in todays currency here).

None!!

Microsoft isn't giving up on the living room

Nintendo makes money no matter what console they create

Sony has a reputation to uphold
