KBG29 said: I can not believe people are actually going to sit here and tell me that this is a fun (enjoyable or amusing ) game. Or that this board is a innovation in video games. The success of this game and games like Wii sports shows a serious problem with humanity. These are real life activities that you can actually go out and do. It is not that expensive to go by a bat and ball, people will give away a tennis raket if you are interested in tennis. Why are people paying money to do this virtualy when you can do it for real. Oh boy, where to begin. First, you can argue all you want that YOU might not find these games enjoyable, but (fortunately) your opinion is not everyone's opinion. It's actually in the minority. Second, the board is a top of the line scale that accurately detects weight shifts. If you can't see how that can be used to improve gameplay in certain genres, then you're blinded by your hate for these games. Since this isn't innovative, please show me what other company has developed a pressure sensitive balance board for gaming. Third, the "you can do it in real life" argument is so old and flawed it's barely worth countering. But I will anyways. Time, money and convenience all play a part in why people prefer video games over the real thing. Let's say you want to play tennis. In real life you'd have to get a tennis racket, find other people to play, go to the court, come home when you're finished, then probably take a shower from sweating all day. This is also dependant on what time of day it is, how much time you have, if there are any tennis courts around, if you know people who play tennis, your level of talent, and so on and so on. Or you could turn on the Wii, play a few rounds, then turn it off. And why is this only a problem with the Wii games all of a sudden? Traditional controls are even more pointless than the Wiimote. Why are you hitting A when you could be out playing REAL baseball?!? Using your logic, every game ever made that simulates a real world activity shouldn't have been made. No sports games, no music games, no exercise games, no racing games, etc.
Wii Fit is even more rediculous than Wii Sports. What are people doing payimng 350 dollars for a workout system that does absolutly nothing. Wii Fit is not a game, the board is not a game. When you play this game you are working out. No one needs a devices to tell them, how to balance, do sit ups, longes, dips, and so on. Is it a game or is it not a game? First you say it's not, then you immediately follow that up with "when you play this game." Disregarding your slip up, there are many reports of Wii Fit's benefits, especially when complimenting a traditional exercise routine. People have lost weight, it helps them stay in shape, it gets them active. Most importantly, it's fun. That's the number one cause of people not following exercise regimens. They get bored and quit. Also, having an outside source explain to you the proper way to do something is very important in exercise. Having an audio and visual aid helps you correct your mistakes while you're doing it. Not everyone knows the proper pace to move at or the proper way to do something. Also also, it's rIdiculous. I'm so sick of seeing that damn e in there.
People that are celebtaring this, have a good time. Just know this is not a win in gaming for Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, EA, or the gamer, but it is a lose for humanity. From this point on it's just elitist dribble poo, so this is where my argument end.
P.S. Please note I have NO problem withg the Wii. I think Nintendo has some great GAMES and I think thazt the system was well worth it for the oppertunity to experiance them. I do have a problem with a company that takes advantage of incompatent people. Here is a good list of things for Nintendos your a retard but Wii can help products:
1. Wii Cook 2. Wii Clean 3. Wii Chat 4. Wii Read 5. Wii Educate |
