They give them a B+. To be honestly, I expcted a more lower rating coming from them. They criticize it that it gives you too much freedom and that it doesn't have multiplayer.... ¬¬ whatever.

Time to gather the pitchforks and torches...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

grade inflation is now beginning for "casual" titles. a year ago there's no way this would have gotten a B+ from 1up... either that or reviewers are adapting to these kind of titles.

i should probably check wii fit average scores after all's the reviews are out and compare it to wii sport's average scores. if wii fit scores higher, that's evidence.

EDIT: also, 1up gave boom blox an A+.  i don't know, it's like 1up is moving from one extreme to another.

the Wii is an epidemic.

You ever consider the possibility that these games are better than you think they are, and you are under rating them without having played them personally?

Before you dismiss the score survey the web. Most of the low scores come from sites that didn't really test it out. Those that actually did a serious long term test were almost always surprised and very positive.

New and different things get lower scores because they don't fit into the reviewer's world view. Everytime I read a review of a Wii game that in about the second paragraph has something like "the Wiimote worked but I preferred playing the game using the classic controller", I quit reading because he doesn't get it and he never will. To get really fair reviews on something new I guess we have to wait for new reviewers.

I bet that the game told her that shes fat.

My problem with all these casual social games like Wii fit, Wii sports, Rock band, guitar hero and 70% of normal wii games is that one doesn't take any emotion or feeling after the game is turned off.

They are all phisycal activities which are only fun in the moment you are playing them...they are a good diversion and have their place in gaming but shouldn't really be considered the next step. A good non-casual video game can scare you, can make you think, can engage your with a story, impress you wil art design...etc...long after you turn off your console...this can't.

Otherwise that's a pretty fair review in my opinion...

Haha!

I know some people that would say the opposite... They get emotion out of social games and would consider a good non-casual video game is for the moment only. Wii fit is something that engages you throughout the week as you follow the advice from the game, etc...

Those people should go work out for real then or go bowling in a real bowling alley or maybe start lering to play a real instument...

Then perhaps the other people should search for emotion in a real life situation.

Or perhaps it is nice to have games of both varieties, at the end of Super Mario Galaxy I just sat and watched the whole credit/ending sequence with an overwhelming happiness (unlike lots of games where the credits annoy me if I cannot skip them)
Of course with most of those games once you have played them once or twice through there is little else to do, similar to a film in that respect, If I buy a DVD I would likely watch it once or twice in the first couple of weeks, then maybe once or twice for the rest of it's life.

Games like Wii Sports are not worth any less because you play them little and often instead of rarely but all at once.

 ROFL!!

Reviews doesn't really matter much for me for wii fit, it will sell well and I'll buy it no matter what the score
but, still great that they gave it a high score of B+ compare to other reviews

Why would a game site review a piece of exercise equipment? Weird.

Because it has game elements in it and because the board is going to be used in future games, some already announced (1 ski and 1 skateboard). This makes it a game accessory and also review material.
