OK this guy is abit confused i think, where in that level are you going to show off water effects, and a cube of meat.

exactly. You would show that off in a tech demo. Not game play footage.

Well you said i am so i ust be. If you played GOW1 you wuld know the size of Fenix scar. Explain why it's not there in this trailer. Even tho Cliffy stated this is directly after events at the end of GOW1. That alone says it's quite a bit not finished.

I'm sorry, I don't get it. The main complaint I see here is that Gears 2 doesn't look as good as in the magazine scans, and the reason for that is because they used Unreal Engine 3 instead of 3.5.

That doesn't make sense. I saw the swarms of Locust on the ground...that wasn't possible before...so therefore it's 3.5.

 Good point.

I liked the gameplay vid aswell.  It looks a lot more interesting than GEOW 1.

The game is tough, but those screenshots still show a lot of gray. It is sharp, but sharp gray, with small instances of color.

You mean this hardly noticeable scar under his right eye?

Anyways did this guy play the demo? Was he in charge of the camera? Did he turn the camera towards Marcus face so he can get a good look at it?

The answers and more after this brief message from our sponsors....

And we are back! The answers to the trivia questions were.

No, no, and no.

Speculating Speculation.

Even zoomed in on his face its not so intrusive. Watching a fast paced action scene wont give you the best angle to be able to examine the face for a scar.

The Gears of War 2 game looks impressive.
When will the Unreal 4 Engine be out? I assume Gears of War 3 will use Unreal 4 Engine. So my guess is 2 years away so a possible New XBox launch title Gears of War 3 maybe a 360 port of Gears of War 3 too.
So Gears of War 1 used Unreal 3 Engine. Gears of War 2 uses Unreal Engine 3.5.

Unreal engine 4 will probably be out for Gears of War 3 and the nexy Unreal Tournament, both will be amazing.

"I found an essential component of Marcus Fenix missing all throughout the video - his vicious scar, which has been quite evident in almost all versions of Gears of war, is somehow… missing."

This is very odd. Why is a vital piece of the main characters appearance absent?

In general though, I thought the graphics in the trailer looked great.

It's possible the new version of the Unreal Engine wasn't complete before Gears 2 went into production, so some of the new effects may be missing.

Although I'm sure Epic could probably add them at a later date.

Maybe part or all of Gears 2 is a prequel to Gears 1 and explains how he got the scar.

Anyways, I wasn't disapointed at all with the gameplay trailer, it looked like fun to me, but then again, I've never been one to count pixels or polygons or whatever.

That thought did occur to me.

However, If you listen to the start of the trailer on GT, Cliffy B states that the scene on show takes place directly after the events of the first game.

(Something about trucks with drills etc.)

So it's not a flashback or a prequel.

Prequel wouldn't make any sense anyways. In Gears 2 they say the locusts have the ability to make entire cities crumble. Similar to the holes they made before except even larger to the point where cities will collapse into the ground.

Now if this happens in a "prequel", then why can't they do it anymore in Gears 1? Considering they didn't have any good way to counterattack the Locusts until the end of the game. It just wouldn't make any sense.

In my opinion Gears 3 would be the "prequel" if they had one. Gears 2 I also believe is considered their "Last Stand" against the Locusts.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

MGS4 is the Biggest disappointment I have seen in a trailor take away the 90% CVG and watch the last bit that shows the actual game play!!! UGH looks as good s COD at best and NOWHERE near as good as what GEARS2 is doing in that demo..
