Forums - Nintendo - Activision announces Pitfall for the Wii!

I haven't played Pitfall since the SNES (A Mayan Adventure?).

I personally prefer the original style most. I remember putting in the SNES game only to use a code to allow me to play the Atari classic.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

You guys need to stop bitching about the graphics.

I'm pretty sure those are from the GameCube title released a few years ago.

Don't kill a game a half year before release because graphics don't look good.

The metroid prime 3 screenshots were terrible in the beginning, but the game itself turned out to be (one of) the most beautiful game(s) available on wii.

I hope this game will be a bit like prince of persia.

Currently Playing:

Wii: Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports Resort

Xbox360: Fifa 2009, Halflife 2 Episode 2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to play:
Wii: Lego Indiana Jones, SMG2
Xbox360: MW2

Again, those screenshots are from the GameCube game.

Let's be honest here: the only reason people are interested in Pitfall is because it reminds them of when they were young. The 2600 "classic" was a crap game then, and it is a crap game now. Screen after screen of alligators, rope swings, logs and tedium. What the hell was the object of the game anyway? I just remember feeling like I was walking round in circles the whole time.

There are plenty of other 2600 games I would prefer to see updated, but to be honest it is all just nostalgia. Most of the games from that era deserve to be consigned to the dustbins of videogame history ('cept maybe Enduro - gotta love night-driving in the fog).

C'mon man. Pitfall was a quality game for the Atari 2600. Swinging on vines, jumping on alligator heads, and collecting blocks of gold was extremely fun. Much better than Enduro in my opinion. I did like driving through fog but prefer jumping over scorpions. You're entitled to your opinion though.

yeh you are right those are from the gamecube title couple years back my bad

Remakes/Sequels of games that disapeared when I was a child tend to take on one of two forms; they're either handled by very talented teams and given the budget necessary to produce a great game, or they're cheap cash-ins designed to "rodger" your memories.
