Forums - Nintendo - Activision announces Pitfall for the Wii!

Sounded cool, but doesn't really look like it. I'm not terribly excited, although it could surprise me.

Looks like a Data Design game... Hopefully it plays well, but I'm wishing they went for a more realistic look.

Let's be honest here: the only reason people are interested in Pitfall is because it reminds them of when they were young. The 2600 "classic" was a crap game then, and it is a crap game now. Screen after screen of alligators, rope swings, logs and tedium. What the hell was the object of the game anyway? I just remember feeling like I was walking round in circles the whole time.

There are plenty of other 2600 games I would prefer to see updated, but to be honest it is all just nostalgia. Most of the games from that era deserve to be consigned to the dustbins of videogame history ('cept maybe Enduro - gotta love night-driving in the fog).

Pitfall : The Lost Expedition was released on PS2, Xbox and GC a few years back, to not so kind reviews. The screenshots of the Wii version are not any better.
I really hope Edge Of Reality who have ported PS games like the Tony Hawk, Spiderman series to the N64, developed Pitfall : Lost Expedition, Sims 2, Sharks Tale and Over The Hedge for (PS2,Xbox,GC) have it in them to give the Wii a proper game.
Currently they are developing Cipher Complex for (PC,PS3 and 360), The Incredible Hulk (2008) for (PC,PS3, 360, PS2,Wii)
And ofcourse they are making a quick port of Pitfall : Lost Expedition (PS2,Xbox,GC) to the Wii under the new moniker Pitfall : The Big Adventure with some extra levels and tacked on motion controls and wiggles.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

not the most impressive graphics

Looks interesting, I like games with puzzle and adventure. I might try it out when it comes out

I just read about this on 1UP and came to see if VGChartz was aware. I'm pretty excited to see a new Pitfall coming, but I'm not setting my hopes too high. Pitfall! on the 2600 was the first game that really hooked me. I'm crossing my fingers that this will kick a little ass.

"I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself."

activision should release this for Wiiware instead

Nintendo Network ID: Sherlock99

those screen shots are ugly as hell

It would probably be better to make it for the DS.
