Sobbing....
I want this game soooooo much, but my computer won't be able to handle it, as with Rome I can basically only play on the tactical map, and on medieval I can barely even do that

I have yet to see better screens than Empire's.
this game looks amazing, i still play medieval 2 total war at least once a week!
The total war games have always had amazing graphics. Just wait till its in motion with thousands of troops on the battlefield. Close up screens are not the whole picture.
Is it just me or does the screens look like paintings? It also looks like one unit consists of over a 100 men. No way, and if so, combined with enhanced graphics from Medieval, it's way beyond my PC specs.

Best using what criteria? Definitely not the most detailed individual character models, but it might very well come close in total amount of detail on the screen, and definitely has a chance at overall impressiveness.
As for the game itself, I would've really preferred the 1600s when Sweden was one of the leading powers in Europe, but I guess chosing an era when firearms finally became the uncontested kings of the battlefield makes it easier to design the combat system.
I'm still traumatized by how horrible the historical inaccuracy was in Rome, so much that I still haven't tried more than the demo of Medieval 2, but I guess I might give this a try.
