It's for different reasons that wii games suffer. Developers just want to make a quick buck off of it. Sega's games have been recently for the most part good. So we don't have to really worry about crappy gameplay on the wii from sega. I also feel if they give the game HD graphics they would have to change the style it has drastically. Then they won't stop their and put in CG and then it wouldn't be the same atmosphere as the first game.

 Why?

Its not the art style that is being changed, it's the graphics, things like texture resolution, geometry, animations, lighting and shadowing.

They would be foolish if they didn't change it.  It's not so much of "How would this benefit the game" so much as "How would this appeal to the console's userbase" question.

Wii fans aren't as concerned with graphics as other console fanbases.  That's not to say Wii fans don't like good graphics, but the standards for acceptable are certainly lower.  A game without a great deal of cinematic qualities would face criticism on the PS3 or 360 that it would not face on the Wii due to this difference.

Edit:  By the way, would you two stop the freakish multiquoting, it's annoying.

Uhhhh, Skies of Arcadia came out way after FF7, 8, and 9. Therefore CG cutscenes were old news by the time the game released. The lack of CG probably had more to do with the fact that the Dreamcast was such a graphical powerhouse at the time that the directors of SoA never felt the need to use CG to make the game look impressive. The in-game graphics were impressive on their own.

As for the original topic, if it's true I would definitely have to get a Wii. The thing is, as others have said, Sega has already built a great engine for SoA that's being used in Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3. The team that made Valkyria Chronicles are already intimately familiar with the PS3. Why would they just abandon all that knowledge and capital investment to make a Wii exclusive?

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Erm, you realize that Valkyria Chronicles and Skies of Arcadia are two completely different kinds of games right?

 Because

1 They aren't the same game.

2 If this is true then it's most likely that it being on the wii certainly is also true.

3 They could just take the engine they used for the gamecube and put it on the wii since they are both similar in architecture.

I agree with you on that regard, although I would love to see SoA2 on a HD console just to see what it looks like.

Also, I likez teh  multehquoting. LOLz

Wasn't there a rumor like in January that they would annouce the game at Sega's gamers day in like May or June?

Yes and  another rumor last month.

skies of arcadia 2?!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! *weeps tears of joy*

truthfully rpg's especially jrpg's shouldn't really have sequels unless it final fantasy style . even though i am huge fan of skies of arcadia and the dream cast i wont get so excited about a sequel. chrono cross( not really a bad game but i didn't like it nearly as much) and baten kaitos origins are good examples

That isn't true. Many games work as long as the characters are the same. Such as games like tales of symphonia, or kingdom hearts. Why is final fantasy an exception? Why do you say this in the first place.
