Forums - Sales - After GTA, PS3 and 360 unchanged. Nintendo has this in the bag.

People thought Halo would spur huge 360 sales. It didn't. People thought GTA IV would spur huge 360 and PS3 sales. It didn't. In fact, during the time period, Wii saw some of its biggest sales. The race as of today I am calling for Nintendo, absent of something huge from Sony or Microsoft.

You do realize that the Wii sales have to do with an increase in the production not the software. Apples / Oranges.

Took you some time, did it? :)

Wow, I have never read anything so wrong or ignorant, ever.

If you look at Sqrl's fine articles, you would see that the 2007 holiday season, when Halo 3 launched, was by a good amount the largest holiday season the 360 had seen. Much larger than the 2006 season when Gears of War launched, and much larger then the 2005 season when the 360 launched.

The PS3 and 360 saw huge boosts this week when GTA IV launched. What you're forgetting is that the Wii is still in very high demand in North America, so Nintendo sent a massive amount of stock to the region in preparation for the Mario Kart Wii launch, one of the biggest games for the Wii.

As for calling the race for Nintendo, it was pretty much certain from the start of '07. If it took you that long to say, "Hmm, I think Nintendo might win this time around", then you must have missed the part WHERE THE WII BECAME THE HIGHEST SELLING HOME CONSOLE OF THIS GENERATION!

*Sigh*

So what you're saying is that the race will stay the same unless something changes?

Currently playing: Civ 6

I think it is a little early to claim that the PS3 and XBox 360 sales were unchanged, although I do anticipate that within a couple of weeks the PS3 and XBox 360 will be back to (roughly) the same sales levels they were at before GTA4 was released.

It's certainly not unchanged, but I too wish sony fanboys would move on, and stop denying that the PS3 still has a good chance of winning this console cycle. I don't think it does. I think it has a better chance of winning in Japan than winning worldwide if that is any indication of the chance I give the PS3 of beating the Wii.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
