I was playing Mario Kart Wii online, and was in a fantastic zone, winning/comming 2nd 23 races in a row! Then suddenly, when I'm on the point screen, you know, the one that shows whether you have earned or lost points. Well, on me, it says - 4000 points down to 5200 points. The player who I had competed with all along also lost something about 3000 points. I thought this was odd, but have never really cared about my score, so I tried to join the next game, but was disconnected from the others. Then a message says "there is a message from Nintendo waiting in your Wii inbox.

So I went to the Wii menu and opened the "letter" and it said that I had used an illegal add-on and am therefore prevented from playing online for the next 2 weeks. It also mentioned that this fine will double for each time I get caught.

So what the heck am I supposed to do? I haven't used any add-ons or anything, and now I'm banned for 2 weeks! That's pretty annoying.

Did you happen to drive "erratically" by any chance? That may be the cause of the misunderstanding.

I have no frickin idea.

send in angry letters ask them to "prove" how you've cheated.

Maybe the other player used an add on.

Now seriously, i'd contact Nintendo about it. Obviously some mistake have happened, since i believe that you got banned by automat.
Your Wii isn't modded or imported from different region than what you're in?

Nintendo has to have a customer-service rep you can talk to. Give them all relevant information, like your Wii number and screen-name, and ask them politely what they think you were doing. Be persistent.

There's a change the driver who got 1/2 place all along was cheating, he could suddenly pop up 20 meters in front of me, but I thought that was lag so I didn't really check it.

I looked at the letter again, and saw an answer button. I'll write a reply to them and ask why I was banned.

Cheating in games is fun. It sucks that you got banned.
