@ Moongoddess - As Mr. Shine stated, the problem isn't really attractiveness - it's perception. As boys, we are encouraged to compete. From Little League to college sports, boys are pushed to win. Treating women with respect isn't hardwired into our DNA. Men tend to be visual creatures - women tend to be emotional. We tend to look at fat, overweight people with prejudice. We think 'That person needs to work out and push away from the table.' That is just as bad as judging someone based on looks.

For the record, an overweight person is overweight for a ton of reasons, including hormones, medication, overeating and several other health reasons. You would have to be shallow to look past an overweight person just because they don't fit your definition of a hottie. I actually became friends with a woman who was very, very large. I had no intention of hooking up with her, but over time, I looked past the physical and saw a quiet and gentle spirit. She was truly a beautiful woman, but physically, I wasn't attracted to her. Eventually, I looked past that because she became my closest friend. No, I didn't marry her, but she is still a great friend to me and my wife.

The world claims being overweight and fat is unattractive, but I beg to differ. At my biggest weight, I was 330 and still very confident. Matter of fact, I was trying to lose weight and this smokin' Latina was begging me NOT to lose it. She claimed I looked like a teddy bear and she wanted to hug me all day long. I wanted her but never really pursued her - and a few years ago, she revealed she wanted me and felt like I was shunning her advances.

I've had my share of women and have been big most of my life. A lot boils down to self-confidence for large folks. I realize there are some women who won't ever find me attractive. So what. However, I do know most women think I'm handsome and look like an ex-football player. Regardless, I don't let society dictate what's beautiful or not. I have eyes for that.

Lastly, you have some grown boys running around. Hell, some of them are even senior citizens! Guys often aren't schooled on how to treat a woman to start off with and are fooled by a big butt and a smile. They are down to hit it, but rarely want a relationship. If you spot a boy masquerading as a man, drop that zero. Real man are out there and a lot love them some thicky-thick women. I would gladly choose a chunky dame over a woman so skinny she's from that country Bulimia.

One more thing - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And the very woman you shun ... could get motivated, lose weight and be a hottie ... and she'll shoot your butt down.

My motto - treat everyone the way you want to be treated.

And yes, overweight is not some kind of awful decease... but most of us are on the pressure of another boys, is some kind of sad circle, and mostly moved by fear...

But on topic,  I like more thin type, but in my life I have find some chubby girls really attractive, saddly all of them with boyfriends, overweight is not the barrier here (Since they can do excercise if you ask for it nicely, or better if you do something toghether), this is a social barrier, why are you going to go against the trend featured in almost all media???

Reason why I don't date chubby girls. (in order from most important to least)

1.. personal preference 

2.. inability to do it in the car.

3.. friend's opinion. (not that I care, but they can make pretty cruel jokes about it, I much rather avoid that)

I know a few 300lb+ dudes swimming in women. Obesity will turn some off, but I'm living proof that your comment is invalid.

Men are the visual creatures - some women are, but most of them are emotional. If you hit an emotional connection with a hottie, you land the babe. It's called GAME.

Also, I would like to apologize for going a bit far in the man-hating. I just realized I was doing that. IRL I'm regarded as a bit of an "ice-queen" and I'm trying to loosen up a bit.

Player, unless you are in a Mini or a Smart car ... that would be rough for any sized folks. Maybe you need a limo to stretch out, but the backseat of a Jeep is room enough for me (and LL)

And your friend's opinions are just that - their opinion. Seriously, I don't consider this because I've had a *friend* who said I should break up with this thick girl and she told me later on he was running game on her. Foolishness. If my friends pop off jokes about wifey, I usually deck 'em and kick them to the curb. Either they support me and my decision or hit the road.

Please ... you aren't man-hating. And besides, I married an *ice queen.* She's thawing out very nicely!

Defenses are great to keep jackasses at bay. Men are patient and willing to wait on a good woman. I should know!

Back in the day, fat was associated with wealth and royalty. It was like 'If you are wealthy, you can eat good." Even in the Bible, a fat person was considered a blessing and earned favor.

I dunno where folks think fat is whack these days.

 Just turn on the TV, go to the movies, look for a lingerie catalog, or just a regular magazine...

Sex sells, yeap, but they are creating a false image of what you should get when you are looking for a girl...
