Well to paraphrase Dr. Chase from "House"-That's what attraction means, that society likes looking at you. If society doesn't like looking at you, then that means you're not attractive.

So to the OP. We are the "society" man. Each and everyone of us makes up that entity you described which makes it seem like society is some dictator faraway telling us what to do. There are people who absolutely adore obese people but they're heavily outnumbered by people who don't. That majority makes up the so called "society." There's nothing wrong with finding certain types of people unattractive (well at least for you, maybe not for that person you don't find attractive but that's a lesson in life). Why do we find certain people unattractive? Well, that there is a doctoral dissertation in the works.

 Oh yeah, attraction goes beyond than just looks but I guess that part isn't relevant for this topic.

Actually, I would like to add a personal point: Touch is a very important sense for me. So when I'm holding a woman, I want to be able to feel that her body in my arms. When you have someone overweight, it's like they're ALWAYS wearing a heavy coat. I don't think I'd be able to accept that in someone I'm looking to as a potential mate.

You know, its the realization of how shallow men are that drives me to be as shallow as I am. You're all being a bunch of pigs and many of us women are being driven to treat men as shitty as they treat women.

And thats why I only touch attractive men. Because I know they will sure as hell never pay any attention to something like personality, so why should I?

There's nada wrong with big women (or men). While folks are feuding about how they won't go out with one, those folks are making mad love while you and your friend Fistina get busy.

For guys, yeah, we are initially attracted to hotties, but guess what? Your best friend may be large and in charge.

I have been with big girls, small girls, hot chicks, ugly ones ... and in the end, it's NOT about what your friends or fam feels but how you feel about her. And look out, you may fall for her even if she's a big girl.

I have a better question why should we physically consider fat people attractive?

They are out of shape, will encounter health problems, often means they have weak personalities as they overeat (yes metabolism comes into it, I know as personally mine is very high so no matter what I eat I can't get fat. However the percentage where it is so slow they can't lose weight is miniscule). I would also say there is some natural wiring in humans that makes fat people less attractive, a fat person is going to be less likely to escape danger and so more likely to leave you raising a child alone. Then there are also points of if someone is very overweight sex is difficult.

Also I would argue against when people say ''Urg all guys want is anorexic girls these days'' Most guys i've ever known agree that they don't like it when the girls are super skinny. They like skinny to normal girls. Also quite a lot of guys like slightly chubby girls. The reason skinny girls are in magazines etc is simply because they are more photogenic.

Oh and Moongoddess256 if you really think that way then get help. So if you met someone you really liked but they weren't attractive you wouldn't be with them because a man wouldn't? Yes that's a great way to solve a social problem. I don't like what your doing so im going to do it as well and see how you like it. Brilliant thinking.

You seem to go on an anti male rant every other post (I've read you before claiming a problem was with ALL men rather than accepting it might be with women). Guys are visually stimulated, so yes at first they are attracted to a girls looks. However in my experience most guys aren't actually shallow. I have a friend who would only ever sleep with incredibly attractive girls, then he found a girl who is average looking however he really loved her personality and spending time with her. He is now in the only exclusive relationship he has ever been in and is really happy.

I've known other guys that are the same. Yes they can be shallow however when they find someone they really like looks aren't important. I would say girls are the same to a similar degree. Girls never go up and start talking to the ugly guy in the club, they will to the attractive guy though. However if the ugly guy starts talking to them and he is nice then its ok. So yea they are definetly the same to a degree.
