Guerilla have actually managed to exceed the 05' trailer in some areas.

The game looks absolutely great, easily my most anticipated game for the PS3.

@dallinor

and they can still improve upon this

Valve delayed Half-Life 2 after their servers were hacked, IIRC.

So, still no word on how the game actually plays,
which is where KZ ran offthe rails in the first place.

 umm, websites have been playing the game since last E3.... where have you been?

The same websites that dubbed the first a Halo-killer, no doubt. Your willingnes to continue trusting them is touching.

 I played it at E3 2007...... I was at E3 2007. Thanks to GameSpy, PSU, and poor security.

No one else commented about this......

 Wow, ssj. Pretty neat.

azrm2k, sony never claimed that the E3 2005 video was ingame footage. of course it wasnt! no one ever thought it was. guerilla just wanted to show the feel of the game and what they hope the game will look. when everyone said wow, that was a cool video, impossible for a video game! now look at the game. and it still has a bit less than a year in development. havent you ever heard of a target video? remember back when ghost recon 2 advanced warfare was coming out? they had this AMAZING looking teaser video and everyone was hyped. the only difference was that the final game looked HORRIBLE compared to their teaser video. COD4 did this too. they did alot better job and the final result was good. i dont care if guerilla takes there sweet time. i like sony's strategy of less games but way better ones then microsofts, release dozens of games with nothing new in them besides shined up a bit. caugh caugh halo 3. guerilla really did do it with this one.

I think one ONE Sony guy, maybe Phil, called it in-game or if I recall, real-time, and that's what pissed people off.  I remember also hearing that it was rendered by Cell, not a FMV, it's just that it was at like 5 fps and they sped it up a lot with post-processing.   Oh well, you gotta be careful with what you imply about vids.

@darth: I think IGN said the level design and maybe the pacing resulting from it needed work.  Too many destructible boxes for cover or something.  In terms of the gameplay (cover and aiming systems) they said they worked great and probably better than some other big games that are known for similar systems, which I really take to mean Gears and CoD4, so on the gameplay front they should be all good.  Especially w/ 9 months to go, hah.

they have done a brilliant job on making this game look as close to the original E3 video.

why would anyone be mad if they used some fancy tricks to render the e3 2005 video? isnt that the idea of a teaser, to make it look oustanding so the devs have something to work towards?

it actually looks better
