Forums - Microsoft - RUMOR - MS showing off Wiimote-like controller next week, alongside Banjo 3

The console is only a couple of years. It's not too late, if they plan on having the 360 last 5 more years and introduce it right... A couple of things they would have to do:
Make it standard on all new units by 2009.
Make a wii-play like bundle that included the controller that is compatible with existing 360 machines.

Anything less than those two things, and why bother.... it will never reach the market % for more than a couple of games to have it as optional...

This is good timing, while the Nintendo can not make enough Wiis...

That said, it's just a rumor, and I'll believe it when I see it on Microsoft's web site.

Until then, the rumor will just make people avoid the 360, in anticipation of a new model with the new rumored controller. I know I wouldn't get a 360 yet with this on the horizon...

the only reason why the balance board is such a success is because of its mass audience appeal. Wii fit appeals to any one over the age of 15 or what not who might be interested in their physical apearance or ability. the younger kids would still be drawn to it but after playing it I cant see how the younger kids would be drawn to this game for the long term.

Ms needs to release a game along side the motion device that has the appeal of their mass audience, would we say they are fps fans? so it would make sence to release something along side that genre other wise with the recent hype about wii fit and the wiis motion control in general the 360 remote may get swollowed up in nintendo hype.

This casual motion controle oriented audience is going to be a hard one to crack because they will need to do one up if not two up on nintendo to really attract the audience that will push the success of the device

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

I just wonder if they will focus on waggle or IR pointer. The way they do the controller will show us if they understood the wii appeal.

Even preferring my beloved PS3 above the 360,I don't share all the hate against Microsoft for this attempt to attract a different kind of consumers or for allow the actual ones to play in a deeper interactive way their games on the system.

We have to stop this anger for adopt the successful things in the industry,Nintendo shows a new way for improve the way we play, why the hell the competency can't adopt it?
If Microsoft shows how well can they implement the online gaming, why the other two can't adopt that way to do the online gaming?
If Sony shows how choosing a new "better" format can improve the quantity and (relatively)the quality of a game, why the other two can't adopt it if they wanna do it?

There's no book of rules for this industry, the winners show the way and the other competitors must adapt and evolve or die, well for Microsoft, wish them luck, they had made some fatal mistakes this generation, but no one can blame they saying that they don't intend to change this bad stream.

I will buy it along with BK3. :)
But overall it will not help very much to get the casual players(i.e. the real mass market)attracted to the Xbox 360 imo.

1 st off nintendo hold patents and design what about the sensor bar would it be usb for the 360 or even need a sensor bar??? How much tech from Nintendo would it require and with licensing would it make Nintendo stacks more cash to license thie technology to others????

inovation look at the company with the rights to rumble and what would happen if the tech nintendo use got bought out by a competitor! Yes nintendo is making stacks of cash but MS and sony still have way more money.

if its done well and they have games to showcase it who knows every other break thru has been copied so why not motion sensing???

I don't even know what the game is about, but if it has x-mote, i'll be interested in getting it. Why not?
Why hate microsoft for copying Nintendo? It's a compliment to Nintendo and it will add to my gaming experience.

even though i doubt it'll ever sell decently
i do have a feeling it'll have something the Wii doesnt

whatever it is, i dont know
but come one, we all know M$ can do
some silly things sometimes, but im
sure they thought this one through right?

right?!

Since I love Banjo-Kazooie so much, I wish they wouldn't use them as a guinea pig.................oh well. I really wanted to see if Rare could bring out another fantastic game again, after so long.

You could get Banjo + Xmote and if its an AAA game I think everyone will be pleased.

Actually as a side note: This is very important for Star Wars: Force unleashed! If they include it in that game it could definately swing it in the Xboxes favour vs the PS3. Hell if they do it better it may even convert a few die hard Star Wars fans from the Wii to the Xbox360 for this game.
