Forums - Microsoft - Seattle Informer loves the 360 - 12 Reasons why GTA IV is better on the 360

IGN's review didn't take into consideration any of the points that I brought up (well none that I saw)

Truth of the matter is that the 360 already has more features then the PS3 version

that's not correct...every HDTV has a scaler...and virtually no TV accept a 720p without the need of scaling (it's just a question of numeber of pixel...so you have 2 alternatives:

CRT TVs have no need for scalers, because they can display a set of resolutions natively. Consider the differences between a CRT monitor and an LCD monitor.

Many older CRTs are 1080i, but not 720p compatible. So, yes, I was exactly correct in my statement. And, in fact, this was a big part of the stink that came about when the PS3 was released.

techinically CRT TVs are not the HDTVs i was referring to...and with LCD/plasma TVs (given the fixed resolution) the scaler is an important factor

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

So CRT HDTVs are not included in the set of "every HD TV" which is what you were talking about? By that logic, I will also define Plasma HD TVs as also not in the set of "every HD TV".  For no good reason, of course, just because when I saw "every HD TV" I don't mean Plasma TVs.  Obviously.

You're wrong. Just say, "ok, I meant *most* HD TVs". Look back at my original point:

(2) Only affects users who don't have a TV that does scaling and doesn't accept 720p.

Note, that should really read: "this only affects users who have a TV that doesn't have a scaler or support 720p," for clarity. The point is that there *are* PS3 owners who have TVs that don't scale and don't support 720p. One of my friends owns a PS3 and his secondary TV is an old 1080i only CRT. He ran his PS3 in 480p for most game when he relied on that set.

The 360 scaler chip is an advantage in that situation, or for fixed-pixel HDTV owners that have a particularly shitty scaler in their TV (lots of very cheap LCDs are like this).  However, for many people their TV is as good of a scaler or better than (h)ana.

OMG!! On the 360 version, you get an achievement called "Mild Coffee". EXCLUSIVE!!!.....err not. You can do it on the PS3 version too, you just don't get a notification at the bottom of the screen. That takes out the argument of achievements making it have "more features"

DLC has been hinted at for the PS3, so that semi-moots the DLC making it have more features.

Freezing....that happens on BOTH versions, but on top of that, the 360 version has pop-ins, worse anti-aliasing, and a slightly lower framerate when a bunch of action is on screen. That takes out the freezing argument.

Which console's online still works when a single game goes down? Remember Christmas '07? NO GAMES could be played because Live went down, and if the same thing happened now, not only could you not play GTAIV, but you couldn't play Halo, COD4, Gears, etc. while on the contrary, when GTAIV went down on the PS3, I could still play COD4, Warhawk, TF2, etc. That takes out the online argument.

Custom soundtrack...you've got me there, but I will bring in an example of how this can be moot too. My roommate this past year has a 360, and he simply turned on iTunes, and blared music out of his computer speakers when he was playing because he had tons on his computer, and his flash drive was only 256 mb. Same effect as custom soundtracks, just a different medium. So if you use that method, or one similar to it, that takes out the soundtrack argument.

Who said the PS3 version was slightly better? IGN did and so did a handful of other reviewers.

360 version has more features how, may I ask again?

hmm you just stated them.. it doesn't matter if you think they're "moot", they're still there!!

And, DLC for the 360 will be episodic content.. DLC for the PS3 will be horse cop armor.

I can't understand how people believe that the $50 million loaned to TakeTwo by MS will somehow mean equivalent content delivered to the PS3.

and to finish off -

What did Sony get you when you couldn't play GTA IV online??  At least MS apologized for getting caught with their pants down last Xmas and you can expect them never to let it happen again. Sony doesn't care if there's a problem, they've passed on the responsibility to third parties (Gamespy)... I'm not sure how thats something you can brag about.

Flame thread alert.
The whole article is complete utter garbage. So many lies in it and so anti-PS3 and so bias towards the 360. It sickens me. I want this thread locked immediately.

Did you even read the damn article rock on? Hello? is there a brain in your head?

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

I hate specs talk. They make armor out of jargons. Anyway I'm still holding on to my money. I still don't know what the DLC is.
