I think Ty the immortal is the only one I've seen and didn't kill. That was just an inopportune time and place for a fight.

The only pig that I will ever consider raising and feeding is the ones that will eventually be going into my belly. The least they could do is stick with a dog or better yet a horse! Now that would be cool, maybe you can even ride it into battle as a bonus unlockable if they'd impliment that. But... a pig?
*imagine riding a pig with wings into battle* ::cue flight of the valkyries::
With regards to chapter 11 *blacken to reduce potential spoiler for the more intuitive*
I don't think the anime will have the same impact for me, the shock effect is no longer there, chapter 11 felt like being hit on the back of the head with a wrench, the anime will feel more like a quadriplegic inside a tunnel staring towards the oncoming light of a freight train
man this thread got huge fast D:
Just finished the game
Great ending to top off a very emotionally charged game. Alicia is a total MILF
I am really enjoying this game. I am a little upset that I got a D on chapter 6 The Desert. I completed it in 9 turns and I don't understand how I could have done it sooner. I used the sniper, and only deployed a few units at the beginning until I took the forward base. I killed 2 of the 3 tanks and all of the ground units before taking the base. I only lost one unit (Herbert the lazy engineer with a bad attitude).
Any ideas?
Thanks for the input, Jeff.

my adivce to you is not bother with using a sniper... blitz straight through the middle. get your tank in a position where it can bombard the snipers on the roof near the first base. also with the tanks, only take out the middle one. leave the one on the far right alone and run past the one on the left.
This should take you about 7 turns at the very most.... I think think I done it in 6.
hope that helps

good grief... a lot of you have gone pretty hardcore at this game. i'm only at chapter 7 and i've gotten a lot of bad scores so far. i'm planning on playing it through again so that doesn't bother me so much... although it's a pretty busy season for games and i barely have time to play as it is.
what i'm interested in is killing the aces. are they hidden somewhere on the map (not highlighted by a marker) or do you have to kill them at a certain time? i can't remember if i've gotten any ace kills. i guess it might be that i haven't bothered killing everyone and missed them in the process.
I haven't gotten "hardcore" with the title either mtofu. I've gotten mostly Cs on my missions aside from skirmishes. I've gotten a D before and a couple of Bs but mostly Cs for the campaign.
The aces are just around as normal soldiers. The only difference is when you aim at them or focus on them, instead of saying "ShockTrooper" or "Scout" it will say something like "Ty the Immortal" or some other specific name, and they are a bit stronger than average. Killing them earns you a special weapon at the end of the fight. As long as you keep an eye out and are semi-thorough it's not too hard to find and kill them.

... damn it.
if you told me that it was just experience points or gold that you got for killing the aces then i wouldn't have cared that much. now that you tell me that you actually get new weapons i'm very tempted to start over from the beginning.
are the aces the buggers that duck when you try shooting them?
maybe i'll do two campaigns at the same time.
curse you and my
Well the Weapons you get from the aces are the enemy equivalent to what you already have, and their stats increase on later levels as you face more difficult enemies. So there's really no benefit to getting the weapons from previous levels since you'll get better ones in later levels, unless you are a collector.
...
ars technica has just posted a very favorable review of the game.
