Oh he tortured and murdered somewhere between 50 to 600 children.

On some accounts as a scarifice to daemons.

How's he portrayed in the game?

Dont forget raped...
Boys and Girls at the ages between 5 to 18.

If you don't mind spoilers. and if my memory serves.
Jeanne was up against a mystical evil.
Gilles was portrayed as a great noble who endagered himself just to help Jeanne.
He was also one of the 4 chosens that obtained the mystical bracelet, one of which is with Jeanne.
At one point Jeanne's love interest(Roger) was ... Think of it as venom's relationship to it's host in spiderman... by the mystical evil.
They saved him. And off they go to the final battle. In the final battle they defeat the great evil, tried to seal it, but he was able to escape and went straight to Jeanne. Gilles jumped inbetween them and absorbed the great evil.
They saved the day.

watch 0:53 to 2:18 to see how they portrayed his character. *Major spoilers*
Most people assume a happy ending for him if they haven't read his story.

Ahhh... kickass.

I really need to pick that up once i get a PSP.

Yeah, Jeanne is really fun, although I think it gets a bit easy for awhile. But I guess that is the same thing that happens at the end of all tactics games when you level and spec the hell out of your people.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I still think this game has chance to pass Fire Emblem in Japan. It's at 141k and still selling well over 1k a week for 8 weeks now.

How does everyone think this game will do in America?

Better than Operation Darkness, Culdcept Saga, or Spectral Force 3?

I'd hope.

Though i don't think it will beat Fire Emblem world wide.

I mean OD and SF3 revies suck...

This should get a solid 75+ rating. Awesome looking graphics, but half the reviewers are likely to be bitchy "It's not exactly like a traditional SRPG types combined with people who don't usually play SRPGS."

Maybe a couple "But but swords!" people as well.

It should sell better then games with a review of 60 or below... i'd hope. Even without advertising. I mean SRPG fans are probably watching this intently... i mean a bunch of people were intently watching "Drone Tactics" for the DS for gods sake.

SRPG fans are always on the lookout for more SRPG fans. Mentally unstable lot I say.

They do suck. This could get great reviews though. Im hoping for 80%+ average. If this does well, then maybe Atlus will start doing some SRPGs for PS3. Maybe even get Tears to Tiara over here.

It'd be a miracle for this to pass FE worldwide. A huge one. It should be right behind it though.

Well FE did almost nothing in europe i think.  Or there just isn't data for it in the database.

As for Atlus... who knows.  Most of it isn't even up to them since most of what they do is publishing work.

They're more a small company that helps REALLY small companys put games overseas.

I'm not sure how many SRPGs they really develop themselves.  The only Atlus games I know of that are actually atlus made are Trauma Center and the Daemon games. (Persona, Shin Megami etc.)

Well. We have three small SRPG for PS3 that are Japan only so far.

Mist of Chaos (from Idea Factory of "Generation of Chaos" fame), Tears to Tiara (from Aquaplus), and Record of Agarest War.

The first two have a pretty decent chance of being ported over.

The third one is the porn one isn't it?

Honestly if it wasn't for the porn angle it sounds good.

I mean, dating and marrying to create a heir that you play as later on sounds like an awesome idea for a game if done right.

It isn't porn. It's ecchi. It was rated 15+ in Japan so it couldn't have had too much bad stuff. Because of that dating angle of Persona 3 and strecthing it to actually having a kid that will help you in battle is why I said I don't think it will get ported over.

I thought Tears to Tiara was the porn one?  :P

Though toned down quite a bit from it's PC version, from what I hear.

No. It was a suggestive title on the PC (no nudity but sexual references), and the PS3 version was re-done and I still think it has chance with its Fire Emblem style of battles.
