Forums - Nintendo - Should I get Chrono Trigger?

Oh no I meant stealing the physical copy, and possibly busting some skulls if anybody tried to stop him.

That's why I recommended stealing a digital copy separately, aka pirating.

Get it, you won't regret it for one second!

If you have change..go get it.
Amazing game

Buy the PS1 version. You will spend a lot less on it.

Or just ROM it.  The save battery is probably dead anyways, so you are going to run into more trouble than it is worth AND be out $70.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

You might spend less, but there's the whole way longer load times thing, and also, the cutscenes? they don't really add to much to the game^^;

Romming it wouldn't be bad, but I dunno. I love the feel of a SNES controller and just knowing I have a cool classic version :3 $70 is a bit much though (it's worth it, but y'know, still. lol.)

The Mother 3 Fan Translation is done! Everyone go get it right now! (Mother3.fobby.net)

Play Earthbound for the SNES ; ; Do it, it's awesome!

Proud participater of this year's Wii Secret Santa event! Hopefully you'll join the merriment next year!

The loading times make the PSX version the worst version. It is very annoying.

Whatever you do, never get the PS1 version. They added maybe 3 minutes of FMV max, but they more than made up for it by adding hours and hours of loading times. You load into and out of every single fight in the game, even though Chrono Trigger has no separate fighting screen. It all happens immediately on the SNES version.

Play the entire SNES version. Then, and only then, look up all the really short and really stupid Chrono Trigger PS1 remake videos on YubeTube.

It is a masterpiece-level game that is still holds exceptional game values and designs far better than many AAA class games released in this day and age. Since a virtual console release is unlikely (due to legal issues), I would say that the best way to experience the game is with the original cartridge (although as it is said you will have to replace the battery for sure).

Although emulators work well, they still lack the full punch that was replicated on the original systems. Sorry to say, but I am VERY picky about such things. ;)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Buy a snes controller for your pc. They are cheap. ONly about 10-15 dollars.

No use waiting for it to appear on the VC. Squeenix won't let that happen.
