Has anybody played this, what the deal with the Fatalities?

I am playing this, but haven't worked out how to do the Fatalities yet (never understood how to do them in the original MK games either, so I'm not the right person to ask!) In the training arena in the Konquest mode, it says you're supposed to hit any regular attack button (D-pad punch/kick) while the opponent is dazed, but I haven't played the main game again since finding that out to see if that's really how it works.

I haven't played the Wii one which is what I think you are referring to, but I have th PS2 one cause I'm an old fan of MK and the chance to have all the MK characters in one game was too much for me to refuse. It's an underwhelming game, not that great and I think the Wii controls look ridiculous. Dragon Ball Z on Wii has Wii controls that work well for a fighting game, this doesn't...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

but you just said you never played the wii version so how do you know how well the wii controls works?...youre only going by the look which is hard for me to take you seriously.

If it wasnt for MGS4, the PS3 is unnecessary

I've seen the gameplay videos, it is ridiculous, you imitate the d pad movements as motion movements i dunno how they came up with this stupid idea...

If they had made it differently I would welcome a motion MK Armageddon, but they botched it entirely.

I could rent it to see exactly how bad it is, but I'm fairly certain of the crappiness even without actually playing it myself from seeing how it's played.

ive never saw a video yet, basically cuz it wouldnt work, but ive seen the screenshots. i know imitating movements wii remote gestures is different but ive read, in articles at ign, that it transaltes very well and smoothly to the screen. that might be why i havent dissed it yet, but more than likely will rent it

im not quite sure how differently they could have done the ccontrols and still consider it innovative. copying the bdz controls wouldnt WOW anybody in the least

(If the Wii controls don't appeal, the game does support traditional controllers - both the Gamecube/Wavebird and Classic Controllers work. But to me there's no point to buying this on the Wii if I don't get to slice through the air to use the special moves!) I managed to get a fatality sequence started last night (only playing for half an hour at a go, it's been a busy week) -- when the "Finish Him" message comes up, you have to make a SPECIFIC move, then a second move, and at least a third (I haven't completed one yet). The moves involve both the nunchuk and Wiimote in appropriate ways - stabbing motions, for instance -- according to the onboard training video. Figuring out the fatality sequences is a matter of trial-and-error, best to stick with one character if you plan to do it the hardcore way. Alternatively, Midway has actually posted four pages of "cheat sheets" for the fatalities, covered at Kotaku (I haven't looked at these, but they seem official and since the OP was asking...): http://kotaku.com/gaming/finish-him/massive-list-of-mortal-kombat-wii-fatalities-265144.php

Yeah the fatality system of that MK is the worse one, they got rid of character specific kinds now they all just do the same thing basically but its even harder to do em ! just weird, also I didn't get the Wii version cause I didn't want those controls.
