Possible. On the other hand I think its not unreasonable to assume that the PS3 still has a huge boost in front of it. The price is still at a not-massmarket 400, it still hasn't had ONE of its biggest exclusive game releases. The 360 already is at 200E and has already had its defining game launch with Halo3. I won't say that the PS3 will hugely outsell the 360 around christmas 2008 but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it did. Let's wait till the Slimline Ps3 has been out for 6 months and afterwards we can say that 360 and PS3 will end this gen tied. Fair?

Yes, they have a nice machine, but it is hard to develop for, is still considered a bit too expensive, and still doesn't have that much of a library. Their games constantly get held back and they seem to be putting all their eggs in one basket by constantly talking about these delayed exclusives as if once these are all released the PS3 will take over the world. I'm not going to run down the list of all the awesome stuff that is coming out for the 360 this year. You guys probably know the list by heart at this point. What I'm going to do is ask one question: When is MS going to respond to all this speculative puffery? When the NPD numbers come out next month? This is why I get so frustrated with MS in the console war as well as the Mac vs. PC war. They let their competition slander them, spout untrue sales numbers, and make wild claims and never step in and defend themselves. If Europe is considered by MS to be the main battleground for this year, why aren't they stepping up this week with some counter statements??? I wish that the PS3 and Xbox 360 could just co-exist. I'm sick of the flame wars and arguments. What do you guys think about all this?

#1 You're on a sale site, you see the numbers for yourself everytime you come here. And those numbers clearly show PS3 outselling the 360 EVERY week regardless of releases.

#2 Define "3rd" please, because technically I suppose the PS3 is in third, BUT it also has 1 year less sales, but if you were to compare sales by the months the console has been out, the PS3 would in fact be in 2nd, observe:

#3 Look into the value of the PS3, you'll find it is very well priced.

#4 Some games are being delayed simply to avoid competing with other big games, which makes sense, don't release everything you got in 1 year or you have nothing to look forward to.

#5 This one makes me LAWL, I love how you say "I'm not going to tell you because you should all know". Is it because we all know, or is it because there's really nothing spectacular to look forward to? What do you got? Gears of War 2? Yeah what else? Maybe MS isnt responding because they have nothing to respond with?

Sure the companys counts shiped and we count sold but thats the only accurate number we'll get.

 Im guessing nobody remembers everyone crying Foul over MS stuffing the channels at the end of 2006..

MS overshipped by 4 million units xmas season 2006.. MS  didnt ship many consoles the first few months of 2007

thing about that though is they didnt ship many following months. It all balances out.

Since the November of 2006 through the end of 2007 the 360 has outsold the PS3 by about 2m units, thus actually increasing their overall lead.

Since the beginning of this year the PS3 has outsold the 360 by about 900k in 4 mos. At this rate it will gain on the 360 by about 2.7m a year. That means by the end of this year the difference between PS3 and 360 will be barely less than the difference between them when the PS3 launched.

Based on that trend it won't catch the 360 at this rate until the end of 2009, maybe even 2010. Which will be the time when MS won't care anymore really and be pushing the neXtBox. Now, I have always said the PS3 will catch mid-2009 due to FF13 and Japan. But, that would be due to a reasonable large influx of new PS3's sold on FF13's launch.

Wow many of you guys are really sad. You are so entrenched in your beloved machine its like it is an extension of your body. Here it is plain and simple, sales figures do not make a difference at all.

Who really gives a shit if there console sells well? Its like many of you guys live, eat and breathe the Playstation 3 or Sony.

All I have to say is these companies are multi-million dollar corporations who really do not give a crap about you and simply want your money. Its comical that they are so entrenched in your being that you cannot recognize that but instead argue and rant about how well they sell.
