What i think is funny is that to many people think that the PS3 will fly past the 360 in the next few months.
Look at this graph.

| Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
Total | 19,239,504 | 8,789,184 | 10,971,796 |
Since the November of 2006 through the end of 2007 the 360 has outsold the PS3 by about 2m units, thus actually increasing their overall lead.
Now look at this graph.

| Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
Total | 6,218,699 | 3,579,048 | 2,690,772 |
Since the beginning of this year the PS3 has outsold the 360 by about 900k in 4 mos. At this rate it will gain on the 360 by about 2.7m a year. That means by the end of this year the difference between PS3 and 360 will be barely less than the difference between them when the PS3 launched.
Based on that trend it won't catch the 360 at this rate until the end of 2009, maybe even 2010. Which will be the time when MS won't care anymore really and be pushing the neXtBox. Now, I have always said the PS3 will catch mid-2009 due to FF13 and Japan. But, that would be due to a reasonable large influx of new PS3's sold on FF13's launch.
EDIT: I added the actual numbers in case the links don't automatically show them.
