I think MS will be worrying about this, they had a major price cut in Europe (makes the Arcade cheaper than even the Wii and the Premium £100 cheaper than the PS3) yet it still did not manage to outsell it any week since that cut!

Once Sony issue a price-cut of their own, even if it is only £50 sales should become pretty amazing :D

clearly the price cut couldn't help x360 becoming #1 HD console in EU..but on the other side: 1)even with 100k difference per week (which won't be the standard I suppose in the following months) it would take 60 weeks for the ps3 to close the gap WW....and, thus even in this "worst-case-scenario" (100k+ per week), we can suppose that PS3 won't surpass X360 before 30M milestone.
2)it helped x360 improve sales on year to year basis...so we can argue that PS3 will win the "HD console war" (for the "next gen war" Wii is a much tougher "enemy") but X360 is far from being dead.
3)PS3 is more successful than x360...but is not PS2 and won't dwarf competition -> 3rd party developers won't give exclusives to ps3 the way they used to do in past generation....in a way we can still say that MS succeded in gaining some more "respect" in the gaming industry.

I don't think it was ever in doubt that the ps3 would eventually outsell the 360 worldwide. People just didn't expect the 360 to put up such a good fight considering sony's dominance last generation. I don't think the ps3 will ever outsell the 360 overall in the US though.

when MGS4 releases next month, you can expect the sales gap to be much greater

This week was great for all three consoles, everyone had big increases in both regions. Wait a few weeks and see what happens when the GTA effect is down to "normal".

There are a lot of cherries to pick. Here's one: X360 is +33% in Europe compared to last week. I think it might be a non-holiday/launch record.

The 360 will come last this generation, though it will be the best selling loser out of any previous generation, which is still pretty good.

Give me break this was a very tiny minority opinion, vastly outnumberd by the 'PS3 domination starts in/with ..' crowd. And by domination, they meant over everything including the Wii. Um, this was pretty much the tone on these very forums, and everyone who believed that Sony could make a comeback was a rabbid, blind fanboy. You do your sig shame on this day.

On topic; I think I stated in January that the 360 would never sell more ww than the PS3 ever again, and I'm sticking by that statement.
