playstation 3 is almost 100k more in sales than 360 this week.

do you think japan numbers will put the PS3 near to 100k more than 360 units this week or not?

plus do you not find it puzzling that the PS3 price point is beating the 360 much much cheaper price point?

why is this the case, and when will 360 regain the sales edge over the PS3?

1) Yeah, Japan will see about 10.000 PS3's and 1000 360's, so about 100.000 more.
2) The PlayStation brand ruled the gaming industry for about 15 years. Pricepoint isn't the most important part of selling a console. 360 isn't popular in Europe and Japan, so that makes PS3 the HD console of choice there.
3) I think PS3 will eventually outsell 360, but a 360 pricecut in the States could really do wonders, and I don't think PS3 will ever catch 360 in the States.

Please note that at the current pace it still will take more than 60 weeks to pass the 360.

The 360 will never beat the PS3 worldwide at a consistent week to week basis ever again. IMO.

I wonder what next weeks numbers will be like.

When that happens, the PS3 can easily out pace the 360 by double the average increase it is seeing now.

The PS3 will need to sell around 20k in Japan this week to achieve 100k more than the Xbox, so it's unlikely. Nevertheless, the margin between them is significant and must be worrying for Microsoft.

While the PS3 is more expensive, I think that Blu Ray support is the crucial difference between them and a major factor for the higher sales. The improvement in PS3 sales since the end of the format war is noticable, especially in NA.

But i m sure that PS3 will see another downward adjustment in coming weeks... as it is almost always predicted a little on the higher side and see adjustment in the following weeks.. So it will end up like 60k when the figures will finally stabilize.

Even after the NA numbers PS3 was like 12.18 and with .197M sales in Others it only reached 12.36 instead of 12.38 or at the minimum 12.37M

So these figures just show the trend and the numbers shouldn't be taken as hard and fast rules... So PS3 is doing a BIT better than XBOX

I think it'll be just under 100K this week. Still, MS must be in panic right now- they had a price cut and Sony are kickng their ass even without any price cut of their own.

Isn't this golden week in Japan? That should be able to push the ps3 to close to 20k there, which would make it 100k in total difference.
