Forums - Website Topics - WE WANT BALANCE!! Mods actions are either non existent or out of control...

I think mods shouldn't be allowed to post their comments (opinions) on ANY tread , unless it's a thread of their own. I know it's kind of a harsh measure, but it keeps the mods from siding with a particular fanbase.

If you want to start paying us to stop having fun on the site, some of us will be more than happy to oblige you.

Remember, we're videogame enthusiasts, just like all of you. We're also unpaid and while most of us try to remain neutral when actually deciding the fate of a user, you can't expect us to stop voicing our opinions in videogame related topics and start treating this as a job.

The key difference is whether the moderator enforces bans and warnings based on his preferences, not whether he has an opinion he loudly shouts from the rooftops.

The only thing I'm afraid of is saying something and just randomly getting banned. As long as I get a warning or something, I'd have no complaints. However, getting knocked off the board, without being able to at least try to defend/prepare oneself is a bit much.

That's exactly what happened to me. First time I got banned had no warning, no nothing, and that was when bans completley knocked every post you ever made completely off all threads. That was a while ago though.

And yeah, I totally agree with rocketpig. It's not like they're getting paid to do this, this is all volunteer work, and even if they lock some threads that don't deserve it and leave some open that do, it's still a hell of a lot better than what you get on some sites.

Alright everyone. I'll ease the Iron grip of mod madness by removing myself from the site for 2 months. Hopefully in that time my absence will assuage the fears of the trembling, huddled masses.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Although i do think the mods on this site are quite good. I have seen them join in on arguments they should have stepped on earlier. Preventing the arguments from reaching the stage of people being banned.

As for leo-j. I read this site for a long time before joining and have seen some of the stuff he has posted. Sure there have been times a ban was justified but a perma ban give me a break. I have tried to find out why he got the perma ban and the best I can come up with was his gta iv will kill the wii bit.

If this is the reason for a perma ban then this seems harsh . Although he did post points to aggravate people there was always a steady supply of folks willing to jump on him and wind up the arguments until his responses got more vicious and he got banned.

Still a perma ban for one so young is pretty harsh. I can remember being young and hot headed. At his age I would have been banned every second day.

I'll finally be able to breathe with Stof and his weird DS stylus out of the picture.

If a mod wants to have fun in the site that's alright. Start your own threads, comment on gaming news and editorials, post on other mods' threads, comment on the "chartz section", review games, whatever.  But stay away from the "hot topics" is that so much to ask? Mods posting in many of those threads is frequently uncalled for and they often take the side of a particular fanbase. That's an undeniable fact. That's not what you expect from a mod.

You guys should of just made me a mod, i'm totally not bias. I have never posted anything offensive against any system or game, i have only ever posted honest opinions of games or systems i have played. I hate just about every game and system ever made.

@ssj Yeah if he gets unbanned I'm rebanning him. Do you think mods should be making these statements.

Yup, ssj12 has every right and should make this statement. If you read the reason leo-j was perma-banned you will see why this is correct. Leo-j has blown too many chances and is now gone forever (well at least until his next account is uncovered).

I already have that area covered. Two moderators who hate everything just might make the site implode on itself. Naz and myself are already dangerously close to making that happen.
