Nullified is the key word. Nintendo have done a great job. Wait till when NPD hits, and everyone was (hoping?) for 360 or PS3 (or combined) to defeat Wii. Guess what - they won't.

GTA was never going to defeat the wii. Just like halo 3 was never going too. What GTA 4 has done is show developers that games continue to sell stupid amounts on ps360 and moved more hardware. I was expecting nothing more nothing less.

So, GTAIV escapes total humiliation by beating MKWii's opening week, and now your bragging about it?

What if the data was off slighly and MKWii beat the PS3 version of GTA? Does that mean sony lost?

Also, since the Wii can sell as many units as it can ship and Sony or MS can't, the Wii certainly won. So, who lost on that one? Sony and Microsoft?

Finally, how do you know the GTAIV hype is as big as it could have been? You don't. Maybe if there were no Wii's last week or no MK:Wii, more people would have bought GTAIV? I bought both games, so certainly there is a criss cross audience for those games.

I find it ironic that when Wii gets good news you always have to jump in with your deductions based on the logic that the PS3 must've really won somehow, it's just that nobody understands the facts as well as I do, so I'll explain it to them. The PS3 really won! You just don't understand how to read the numbers.

Fact: The Wii outsold Xbox 360 + PS3 + 100,000ish units this week in NA.

Fact: Mario Kart Wii came dangerously close to matching GTAIV on the PS3 in NA.

If you believe those are out of context or whatever, then by all means, explain to me how the Wii "lost" anything.

Nothing can stop the Wii now.  Mario kart Wii the Wii's biggest selling game was released in the same week as GTA IV, strong contiuing sales from SSBB also contributed. Shortage of the Wii one week in NA and a truckload of Wii's sold the next week.

Who says Mario Kart Wii is the best selling game on Wii? For first week, it gets smashed by Smash, and overall, it is likely to be much lower than Wii Fit, so please elaborate, why is MKWii the biggest?

 Nintendo never reversed the market, they just brought over the DS's new gain ownership. Those who loves casual games, people who consider themselves "casual gamer".

I don't understand the whole "stockpilling for GTAIV"... you'd think selling close to 4 million copies as "stockpile", on top of that, having enough console to ensure everyone who walks into the door the change to secure one.

 Funny.. I remember DS is winning handheld war with "more stupid Game Party like games" (to quote you), and yet PSP is still getting its own share of good games. 

Let's face it, you can't stop Wii and casual gamer. As long as the trend of crappy mini-games don't come on my console, I could really care less what the library of games look like in consoles I don't own.

P.S. I find it funny how anyone could think Mario Kart somehow defeated GTAIV... Is Wii beating PS360? Absolutely, It always have and always will in public demand category.
