OT: No way its going to beat GTA4 on PS3 (with expected 5m sales)

Call this insane, I even think the PS3 will beat the WII sales (finally) for a change, when the bundle releases.

this limited exclusive ;) will, NEVER touch any of the former MGS's, let alone sales of the GTA's..

This will definitely sell tons more than the previous MGSs...

The people that keep comparing this generation with previous generations keep forgetting the 10billion other differences between the two.... Almost everything is selling better this generation and it's a FACT...

Japan will buy MGS4 with the bundle and the attach rate will not be 50% when it is released because of the big sales of the bundle...

Also, for anyone to say that it will sell less than DMC4 on the opeining week is just ignorant...

MGS4 has been hyped less. It doesn't appeal to the larger market as well as GTA and it too action-focused for the Japanese. It will definitely sell less copies than GTA4 but I do however believe that it'll sell better than MGS3. Also, as stated several times before, it will move more hardware because of the bundle and exclusivity.

Well, it will be a good measurement of how an exclusive match up with a MUCH hyped and MORE loved multi.

also, we will also see how "bundle" can do to a system's hardware sales.

Frankly, I don't think MGS4 will sell over 1 million first week in NA or do 145K in US.

but it might do 800-900K with 135K. that'd be good enough for me.

i reckon GTAIV will sell more, it's had so much hype. and with GTAIV being multi-platform, more people would know about it

The targetted market for mgs is smaller than that of gta4. not everyone likes long cinematics.

No, GTA attracts a bigger audience than MGS. But MGS will sell well and put another hardware sales boost to the PS3. Hopefully enough so we can expect FF XIII anytime soon. :)
