Forums - Sales - How Pro Evolution Soccer might be the Wii's big weapon in Europe.

I think Wii version of PES has the most potential for further improvements. The control scheme is fresh and has enough room for further refinement.

I doubt PS3 and X360 owners will be willing to pay for another PES with a bit updated graphics and updated teams/players.

I normally get football games ( yes I don't play soccer you americans should use american football) on the pc.
But I so bought pro evo wii and love it.

Only if you call Soccer Assosiation League Football instead of Football and give the name football back to Rugby... who had it first... and is where America actually got the name from.

As Rugby was the original Football. (Well many games were called football, but Rugby Football was the first organized offical "football" game.)

Ever wonder why the oldest rugby clubs in the world are called Football Clubs?

It makes more sense for "American Football" to be called Football then Soccer.  Since  "American Football" is just a variation of "Rugby Football."

The true "owner" of the name if there could be called one.

I just want to say that 4 players will be easy to handle. 4 IR pointers is what the Wii's all about. It's how all the light gun games work.

relative to install base, i think pro evo wii is an actual flop. the fact that it sold best on the console with the worst rating AND smallest install base, shows what kind of game most pro evo fans look for.

1. 4+ player co-op/vs
2. a PLAYSTATION controller
3. and i hate to say it, but it's true, good graphics.

having grown up in an area where football is THE social game to play with friends (fifa, and pro evo), on and off the pitch, i can gaurantee that a the wii version isn't the ideal version to play. players who get the game might be casual game players, but they are hardcore pro evo players, because they love football, and they love playing football with against each other. some of my friends who have a ps3/360 just have pro evo and fifa, nothing else.

Sorry but I HAVE to jump in here.

First, you completely ignore the fact that Pro Evo for Wii has released months after the other versions.

Second, you also ignore the fact that the Wii version is still selling great, which is not true for the other versions.

Third, you claim Pro Evo fans want good graphics, while the PS3 and 360 version of Pro Evo 2008 looked absolutely atrocious. In fact, Pro Evo has never been a pretty game, Fifa is the king of graphics when it comes to football games.

What I'm trying to say is: your post doesn't make any sense.

The fact that Pro Evolution is still selling well and being received well goes a long way to the gameplay. Every review i've read only discusses gameplay and most praise it to high heavens yet if you look at the Wii version you have:

inaccurate kits
No kit editing functionality
out of date player database (I bought game in Jan and had Newcastle players who left club in September).

It's obvious that Konami were concentrating on gameplay and released a quick unfinished release - something we all know generally gets slated on the Wii but this game never gets metioned for this reason, thats how good it is and how much it's loved by people who have taken to it.

Wait until 09 gets released with all it's polish - then we'll see how well it's received, I personally think it'll be a million seller.

Pro Evo is tasty. I plan on getting it soon.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Nintendo should capitalize on this game. Probably give support for the next installment. Either technical and financial. The results will be locking Europe into Nintendo territory for the next few years to come.

Wii Code: 4819-7684-2396-4558

it's about time a demo pack was dished out with every Wii - including demos of games such as Zak and Wiki, Pro Evo, RRR (any - take your pick), Mario and Sonic and so on.

No Kasz216! football has been around in England for MUCH longe than rugby(1300s i think), Rugby was created in a place called Rugby in England(1800s ish) when they changed a few rules to the football system.

Football is called football because you use your feet, rugby football was called rugby football because people changed the rules of football and started using their hands as well as their feet and it was called Rugby rules football.

It was then changed to rugby Football for short.

Why would they call a game football when the main use of the game revolves around the use of hands? This because its a variation of the football game, like gaelic football and australian rules football.

There is probably an article on the internet about it, sorry to go off topic:P

Endure. In enduring, grow strong.
