Boo hoo hoo... Nintendo is too kiddy for me. If I can't kill a hooker and use her skull as a bong I don't want to play it...

I play games to get away from daily life.

I would like to read more about your daily life.

And Pikaboo, I'd also like to read more about this skull-bong game.

When i started playing videogames around 1995, i got a Gameboy Pocket and i loved it. The next year, I got a N64(which is my favorite console of all time) and enjoyed the wide range of games, and great games for kids that even adults can't help but enjoy. The Gamecube came out and I wasn't impressed with the range of games. I thought that it was just a bad generation so I waited for the next generation in hopes for a better range of games. The Wii came out and i have to admit that it is incredibly fun to use the motion sensors...for about a month. I still enjoyed the motion sensors but it wasn't INCREDIBLE to me. They have some great games like SSBB, SMG, TP, but some games that sold over a million really just blow my mind like that Carnival game...I'm sure its fun, but come on!!! They are commited to these more childlike games than people my age(17) and above. I doubt they are going to go back to making satisfying shooter games(Metroid Prime is ok, but it comes out once like every 3 years and i am not going to wait that long). So saying all this, I think that Nintendo is not for me.

I never quite understand these comments.  It's like a selfish only child that his parents have another kid and thinks this now means his/her parents love him/her half as much.  How does the fact that Nintendo is making games like Wii Fit Wii Sports, Wario Ware, Wii Play (or whatever other game you choose to include in that list- Carnival Games is not even made by Nintendo so can't really be blamed on Nintendo).  Nintendo fans have never had it so good.  In the short time Wii has been out we have had Metroid Prime, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, Mario Kart.  Is there a game that should have been released to your taste that hasn't been because of the casual games?  Probably not.  So what are you complaining about exactly?

FJ-Warez, you are right, he would complain either way. The winning console gets the bonus of getting the most shovelware. Every generation.

Um, did Sony "destroy" the industry by allowing Winnie to Pooh, Rugrats & Bob the Builder games on the Playstation? Or:

WhoEVERY console gets shovelware, and the winning console gets the most....

yeah, but the Wii is getting a higher percentage of crap than the PS2 did. We just had thread about that. Also, the Wii is getting a lower number of great games. Still, it's not all bad.

At this point the Wii is more comparable to the PS1 than the PS2. With the PS2, developers were on board from the start. With the PS1, the developers were uncertain as to which of the 3 consoles would take off, and were a bit hesitant in their support of it. The PS1 had lots and lots of shovelware its first couple of years, while the N64 was being known as the "quality" console. And then FF7 was released, and that opened the floodgates for the PS1's "quality" titles.

Exactly, no developers believed N was going to get more than 15% of the market share with the Wii, so what games appear the first year and a half of a consoles life? The ones that are easy to produce and get out to market quickly, fill in the blank for me here... sh--------. And sho------ will not stop as long as the console is in the lead. But with the market lead the Wii will also get more quality games as well, just buy those instead of crap like Carnival Games, and the PS2/Wii favorite "Ninjabread Man".

BAM! There it is!

Do you have any real proof??? (Like how many crap games are on the Wii at this point, vs the number of crap games of the PS2 at the same point)...

And about the good games, almost everybody jumped to the PS2 in the very beggining, how many had jumped to the Wii??? Most of the devs are busy with games announced before the succes of the Wii...

We all out grow Nintendo. Nintendo has great library of video games for kids. Time to move on and buy a PS3 or upgrade your PC.

I personally gave up on nintendos main franchises a while back and there is nothing wrong with that. I find them very childish and uninteresting... Kinda like the same reason I don't watch Disney cartoons anymore. Life is short...can't waste it on things I've experienced 30 times already.

But Nintendo has to make one cool adult mario/zelda game and i'd play it. Here is a video of a Mario concept which I would die to play if a game came out designed in this manner...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YvjVVG-N2D0

In any case, I bought the wii hoping other comapnies(or nintendo) will make great mature games i can play. Boy did I get screwed.

why hasn't anyone ripped this poster apart yet?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

was he serious about the youtube video?

btw i just watched ratatouille on bluray on my friends PS3, and it was an awesome movie! Disney movies are generally entertaining.  Why don't you just look past the rating, and just look at the core essence of a piece of entertainment?

LOL are you calling on nitntendo comunity to rip my post apart because you cant?

I am serious about that youtube movie... if something like that came out I'd play it but I do live in reality and I know Nintendo would never release a game based on communism/violence concept let alone release a mario game based on it.

In any case, I saw Ratatouille as well and it was a great movie. Just like I played Metroid Prime 3 for good 8 hours so I appreciate good entertainent. However I don't find hopping around while the character yells "whoopie" "YAH!" etc entertaining any more. I could care what the game is rated...however it must be a new and good experience. Portal for example is a great PG rated game...and its a completely new expereince. Best game last year...

Nintendo has figured out the formula at this point. Gain the followers while they are young with "WHOOPIE...YAH!" and hopping around gameplay thats easy to get in to for babies... then milk them as long as possible. While some may defect like myself due to lack of new content...most will still follow as they are attached to the characters. Then rinse and repeat with the next generation.

I don´t like them as much as I did during the SNES and N64 generations, but I still enjoy their titles...except for Metroid, Pikmin and Animal Crossing.

Keep in mind that a lot of the posters above are old and don't understand being young like us anymore it seems.  Most of my friends have 360s and prefer them to the Wii because it has more "mature" games.  And that's okay.  It's not a sin to not like quite a bit of the Wii's library and maybe prefer another console's lineup.

If the Wii isn't doing it for you, look into getting a PS360 or maybe upgrading your PC for gaming to go along with it.

Last generation Nintendo Gamecube had a weakness. There games were too childish according to the (online) public. Now with the Wii Nintendo has made from their weakness a new strength. It's working, casuals are buying the Wii just for Wii Sports. Nintendo will offer Metriod, Mario and Zelda for their fanbase. Up until now 3rd party support is lacking. Yes, there is NMH, RE4, and there is more you just need to search or follow the news. However Nintendo will never have 3rd party support like PS2 had. I think PS3/360 will have better support for games in terms of quality.

Especially western games will stick with PS3/360. I'm also expecting some eastern blockbusters to hit PS3 instead of Wii. There is still a chance that Monster Hunter 3 will hit PS3 sometime late 2010. 8)
