Forums - Nintendo - nintendo controller button layout sucks

If we are talking about general layout of the main buttons.

GC>>N64>SNES>Wii (only 2 buttons)

If we are talking solely about Mario Kart and it's use of the main buttons.

Wii>GC>>N64 (this is using the remote/nunchuck setup which is by far the best, I find the remote sideways/wheel setup a bit awkward because the 2 button is small and it can be hard to reach the 1 button at the same time as 2)

I haven't tried Classic controller and have not played the DS for long enough. but if you don't like the classic I suggest you try Wiimote/nunchuck as it works brilliantly.

I have no problem, button layouts are simple things.

ive never had any problem with the layout and the gamecube controller is better than the dual shock imo

I can't stand both the joysticks on the classic controller, and the weight of the ds (I have the old one :p)
The DS kills my arms after about 30 mins, fingers dont like the buttons either. Is the DS Lite any better in this regard?

 Yes

DS Lite is superior to the DS Phat in so many ways. The DS Phat now looks like an inferior horribly made handheld to me ever since I got Lite. :P

N64 pad owns all other Ninty pads easily.

There were only two things wrong with them.

1. the control sticks wore down too quickly.
2. they are f'ing huge,  I mean they fit nicely in my hands so they were fine ergonomically (unlike original XB) but the odd shape of the N64 + the odd and large controllers took up a lot of storage space.

With the GC pad there were 3 things wrong.
1. the + pad was too small (though I am now used to it so I don't mind, but the change was awkward)
2. the well that your finger sits in when you depress the R/L buttons was too short for my fingers, so boosting in Burnout could make your fingers ache.
3. some people complain about the z-button being oddly placed, though I liked it myself.

^Another flaw in N64 pads; the analog stick wore out fairly quickly, I think I've had three gamepads. The stick would just kind of hang from its socket after a couple of years or so of use, making it almost unviable to game with.
Controllers for the N64 were dirt cheap though (in contrast to the games...) so it was never really a problem!

^I said that one... except I said control stick instead of analogue.

And yes I miss the days when I could buy a controller for £10-15.

The GC ones were £20 I think (official) and the Wavebird was £25, now the Wiimote is £30 (understanderble though) and the nunchuck is as much as an N64 controller.

Not having to buy memory cards is good though, I bought my GC with Wave Race Blue Storm (truly excellent game btw) but could not save without a card (or course) so 2 days later I went back to get Rogue Squadron 2 and a memory card.... £15 and Wave Race took up 1/4 of it itself.

I saw the guy who made the classic controller, my cousin introduced me to him, he's not a little person
but he's very short, his hands are wierd too, he's got really short thumbs.

Dude theirs like 4 different controllers, pick one and be happy.

It's not like the sasquasch stories about the old Xbox controller.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.
