Earthbound re-classified by ESRB for Wii – Coming to VC?

The ESRB has updated their website and a new entry for a Wii game exists. Well it's not a Wii game, but a SNES game that you may have heard of. It's called Earthbound. Does this mean what we are all hoping for? If past indications to go by, this does mean the RPG is heading to the Wii’s Virtual Console at sometime in the future. The franchise, which apart from references in Brawl, has largly gone unnoticed despite the large fanatical fanbase.

Hells. Fucking. Yeah.

One of the most underrated games ever made. Definite first day purchase for the VC. Now give us Mother 3!

Don't get too excited yet. Nintendo's had a lot of classic games get rated by the ESRB already, and not had those games released on the Virtual Console. That said, please please please let my caution be unwarranted, and have this game be released soon.

Those were good times when euro games were all in english (NES time), it meant no porting costs from the US... now, we need 5 different languages so we don't get some of the great games :/

I really want to play it :P

I figure Nintendo will begin putting out more good VC games this summer like they did last summer, it will probably be to less of an extent than last summer because WiiWare is coming out.

Sweet. I can't wait. One of my best games ever was mother II(earthbound). They should release an earthbound for the wii.

Let's hope Europe gets it. I've been playing this game on a ROM for a while. I'd like to play it on a real console for once!
