Forums - Gaming - Which company appeals more to hardcopre gamers... Microsoft or Sony?

360, though I can't think of a good casual game for either system.

They're both pretty even, but the 360 has the games atm. I picked a ps3 because of the games I will be playing in the near future (MGS4, FF13, and so on), but my pc is my "360"-or i could just play my roommates 360.

I would say MS.

Right now, the 360 does, no doubt. They will be rather even after this year though imo.

I assume that a Hardcore gamer wants more than 1 game. Amount of games is more important than Quality. Thats not true however quality is subjective.

FPS genre Microsoft wins they are also getting lots of PC shooters.
Microsoft      Bioshock, Halo 3
Sony            Killzone 2, Resistence 2

Tactical genre Sony wins most games are coming from Ubisoft and that's 3rd party
Microsoft      Splinter Cell
Sony             Socom   MGS4

RTS genre Microsoft wins mainly because of PC ports.
Microsoft      Halo Wars, C&C 3
Sony            C&C PS1 8)

Platform genre Sony wins Rare just isn't enough against Naughty Dog & Insomniac
Microsoft       Banjo 3, Kameo
Sony             Rachet, Jak

WRPG genre Microsoft wins although Bioware went to EA.
Microsoft       Mass Effect, Fable
Sony             Folklore

ERPG genre Sony wins mainly because it's more succesfull in Japan.
Microsoft       Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey
Sony             FF XIII, WKC

Racing genre Sony wins GT5 > Forza 2 and Sony has more sub genres. Microsoft depends on 3rd Party.
Microsoft         PGR4, Forza 2
Sony                GT5, Motorstorm, Wipeout

Party genre Sony wins however is this hardcore.
Microsoft      Scene it
Sony             Singstar, Buzz, Eyetoy Games.

Fighting genre I think Sony wins this one cause of Japan
Microsoft      DOA4
Sony            Tekken 6, Guilty Gear Successor

Sports genre Sony wins due to making sports games.
Microsoft       Table Tennis
Sony             Hotshots Golf, MLB

Adventure genre Sony wins tides could turn fast cause it's niche PC ports favor 360.
Microsoft      Omnikrom 2
Sony            Heavy Rain, Omnikrom

Action/adventure Sony wins it's pretty close but I think Sony will offer more in the future  (Cellius)
Microsoft     Ninja Gaiden, Too Human,
Sony            Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Eight Days

Achievements.

Half of the ps3 games you've mentioned don't even have a solid release date, unlike almost all of the 360 games.

so:

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
