Forums - Nintendo - To all of you who say MKWii doesn't look better than MKDD...

They look the same to me. Nintnendo just didn't put effort into it, but that's Nintendo for you.

Ha! I knew I would easily prove my point. Fans of other systems for some reason can't help but attack Nintendo. Riot, if you say they look the same, you did not look at the pictures.

My point is this: Any time there is a comparison of a Wii vs GC game, the anti-ninty crowd comes out in droves saying either "They look the same" or "GC one looks better" with the specific intent to get a rise out of Nintendo fans (or just people with eyes). This is silly, blatent trolling, as there is almost never a reason given as to What specifically looks the same or better. This has happened time and time again from MP3, SMG, SSBB, and now, MKWii. It's pretty comical to watch if you ask me.

I'm just saying from a COMPLETELY un-biased viewpoint, the character models and colors look better in the DD version of the game :( the environments look kinda basic on both ><

HAHAHAHA! Un-biased. That's good. You are clearly taking a direct swipe at the Wii in typical fanboy fashion. The OMG TEH GC LOOKED BETTERZ!!!11!ONE!! argument is used by people like you to get a rise out of nintendo fans.

Thank you for proving my point.

I will ask the question from my original post again. Have you ever played the game?? Judging from the games listed on your profile, I will venture a guess that the answer is no.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL BIASED???? I never owned a gamecube, I don't own a Wii, and I have no plans to own either :P I played DD for as long as I could stomach it xD and I am absolutely lacking care for the Wii version, it makes no difference to me which version look best LOLOL. I am biased towards a different console sure, but I'm not stupid, I know for a fact the Wii has superior technology to the gamecube, only an asshole would say otherwise xD

I say unbiased because I simply don't care how either of those two games turns out, I have no desire to give the slightest care. You just wanted to prove that one game looked superior and asked us for feedback, so I'll repeat, in my COMPLETELY UNBIASED opinion, the difference is hardly noticable, and I think the characters themselves look more colorful than they're wii counterparts.

Let me go through why you are biased. You don't like Nintendo. You really don't care which looks better, but if you say the Wii version looks worse, that reflects badly on Nintendo for their efforts, and also on the wii for it's graphical capabilities, both of which Anti-nintendo people have as a life-goal to prove. The only reason you stated that the GC version looks better (which anyone with two eyes can see is not true), is because that does the most to insult nintendo.

You have proved my point, and I thank you for that.

once i get my copy i will give you my opinion

timmah I don't think you really proving anything here. I own Mario Kart Wii and I'm not at all impressed by the visuals. Played MK:DD and the improvements that you show here are more like the improvements from one game to it's sequel on the same console, rather than to a more powerful system.

Compared to other games already out on Wii, the visuals are nice but not impressive. But if that's what it took to get solid fps for splitscreen and online then so be it. Wii is about the fun not pushing the graphics.

......do you own both DD and MK:Wii timmah ? I do and I can honestly say that there are not really any mind blowing difference in terms of graphic. The MK:wii is more polished and vivid colors sure, but if you play multiplayer it pretty much looks like DD. They are both fun as hell to play I could care less if they looked like N64 graphics .

I'm not sure what you are trying to prove with the first two comparisons.  Though the Bowser's Castle does show a fairly substantial improvement.  Character models look pretty similar, textures don't show much of an improvement, and a lot of the geometry still looks flat.

I'm sure actually seeing it side by side on a TV would show a bigger difference, but these screens don't really show much improvement.

LOL god I hope your kidding xD You act as if I HATE the Wii, I don't hate either :P I don't even hate Nintendo for that matter xD Just look at that final screen shot you posted of bowser's castle, tell me that Bowser doesn't look more vibrant in the gamecube version.

When I think Nintendo, I think color and imagination, not HDR lighting and blur effects. You wanted honest opinions right? I HONESTLY think the Gamecube version looks better, and by better I mean better use of color. The character models are too simple to really show superiority on that front, just look at the trucks in both on the highway, they're both rectangle with flat textures x.x what more do you want from me? So basing it on that, I'll go with the one that has better color, and sadly, thats the gamecube version x.x

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

There is definitely a difference, but not much. If you have to carefully examine the pictures to tell any difference then it probably doesn't matter. Then again, nintendo games have never been about graphics so I doubt anyone really cares.

I played MKwii and I can say is MKwii graphics doesn't look that much diffrent from DD but MKwii has more colors and I played the Peach castle course and I can see the Castle looks more shinier and colorful in this game than in DD, but I don't really care much for graphics,
this game is pure Fun!

you cant argue with PS3/Xbox360 fanboys, to them "graphics" stands for 85% of a games reviewscore.

Mario Kart games should never ever be realistic if they do the tracks cant look like they do in kart games now, no turbo no roller coaster themes, no "homing missiles" no bananas no bombs no stars no lightningbolts and on and on and on

take all that away they are just one in a million racergames that flood the market consoles and they as sure as hell isnt even close to the fun kart games are in multiplayer

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
