Okay, we saw the first day sales in UK and from rough estimate, GTAIV (both version) should sell around 5 million units in Week 1.

 

Of course, this is way more than most of us have predicted say... a months ago. Personally I predicted around 3 million MAX for both version.

 

What has changed since? Well, tons of 10/10 scores. Now here's the question. you know the Core gamers who go online to check scores, somehow review scores made them go and buy this game Day 1 instead waiting a few weeks?

Personally I wasn't planning to get this game day 1, but after IGN's review, I got my copy 10AM in the morning.

Oh if they were UK numbers I can't wait to see EU numbers with Ps3 in the lead

then the MONSTROUS 360 numbers in Na & HUGE Ps3 numbers in Na as well..

well, PS3 UK's attachment ratio is 25% while xbox has 15%

That is to say.... 25% of PS3 owner went out and bought this game in DAY 1... so much for "Oh, people buying it as a blu-ray player".

I am sticking with my 1.5:1 ratio between xbox360 and PS3 in NA prediction. But I'm upping the prediction to 1.8 million vs 1.2 million (from my original 1.2 million vs 800K). that's my WEEK 1 prediction. Purely because of the hype generated in the review sites and online community

 Well, GTA franchise has always been viewed as Sony. Since Microsoft is too stupid to spend 20 million to advertise it like crazy, it's their loss that people view it as PS3 only. Heck, I'm not going to go correct them. ;)

LOL...I was only to happy they thought like that....I also enjoyed telling the people who knew it was multiplat the PS3 version ran, played & looked better..

there is HUGE Word Of Mouth going for this game

LEGS will be as phenomenal as Pokemon games & thats really saying something!

Well, it is Germany.. lol

but in US, that's where Microsoft needs to have GTAIV ads on DAY AND NIGHT! They can lie all they want, this is a battle of preception, and Microsoft is NOT even doing much to defend their 50 million dollars investment.

 

@darth.

I believe the legs of this thing is going to even more than CoD4, with its online play, I wouldn't be surprise if this breaks 20 million by year end.

My bro just got the game today. I haven't played it yet but if the game is even half as good as critics say it is, I am looking forward to playing it
