Forums - PC - Team Fortress 2 update tomorrow April 29th

Yea i was in a server where half was medic not to much fun. I like Goldrush. It is pretty fun. Already have a few of the achievements after only playing 40 mins. I played in a server where this kid already had the bonesaw achievement, I was like wtf?!?!

Ok, I'm definately gonna need some help from the VGChartz community for some of these achievements. We gotta plan a night where we all get on an crank them out

Are there any threads about a vgchartz group? I'd love to get everyone into a steam community and play together with you guys

Yea there is a sticky thread at the top of the PC forum with peoples steam names.  I guess its up to the person if they want to make a group.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

So the cons of the update are that every game features at least 5-6 medics, several of which are doing random things simply to get the achievements.

The pros of the update are that this makes it real easy for nonmedics to perform great :).

The new level's great, though I'll probably stick with dustbowl.

I played about 2 hours on goldrush and I can say Valve really did degisn this map with all 9 classes in mind. There are plenty of Sniping spots, Spy hide spots, Sentry spots...Pretty much all classes have a use unlike Dustbowl where Scouts are useless and RED goes demo/engi fest.
Map design has lots of varaety from open spaces (I got a new record with Scout today!) to cozy buildings and multiple routes giving lots of ways to play this map.

After the disappointing additions of ctf_well and cp_badlands, Valve pulled off a excellent map with goldrush.
When the goldrush hype wears down, I'm guessing pub servers are gonna be something like
30% dustbowl
30% goldrush
20% 2fort
5% gravelpit
15% the left over official maps & custom maps

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

Not a fan of the medic changes. Some of the achievements will be nigh-impossible for a regular player but all will be cake for clans.

Adding an RPG element to a well-balanced FPS is a terrible idea...

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

5% gravelpit? I love gravelpit, that needs to be at least 20% of my time anyway.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I got the first milestone more or less honestly, and then farmed the second one. As good as doing things "honestly" felt, going on an empty server with 5 friends, figuring out how the achievements work, taking turns in getting them, and constantly communicating was the most fun I've had with a game in ages. The third is going to take a while because of the 1M healing points, though...

Congratulations to Valve for inventing an interesting new gameplay mode like Achievement Farming! I can't wait for the next mission pack. =P

At least Parokki has fessed up to farming. Who else here has done that as well?! *Raises hand then leaves thread*
