Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft confirms new Prince of Persia game

Cannot wait to see the elaborate level design that Ubisoft can create on the new consoles for this franchise. The PoP series was arguably the best platform series of the last generation with peerless level design. It should be great to see what they come up with.

i know, they already made a prince of persia for wii, so why cant they make another one?

Warrior Within may have had a rocky first few hours, but the game itself was better than the original, IMO. Both the puzzles and the enemies were actually difficult and the freeformness of it it all made me fall in love with the game. The intro with the blaring guitar music was just plain bad though I must admit.

It is definitely my favorite in the series though. The art direction was beautiful too. And HOLY SHIT some of those secrets were hard to find, and once you found them they were difficult to complete.

I will probably pick up this sequel. Good to see they are choosing a stronger potential game engine by going the PS3/360/PC route. A little odd though considering they made that Prince of Persia: Two Thrones Wiimake.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Knowing Ubisoft, they will most likely toss another PoP Wiimake onto the console. Or perhaps they'll put some real effort and make an exclusive Wii PoP?

Hmm...no chance.

Hey, at least you guys got Rayman: Raving Rabbids 3 and probably 4, 5, and 6.

Ye even I must admit Ubisoft failed to give us Wii owner something decent as for now. How difficult can it be to at least port the game?

Maybe because they will use the Assasin's creed engine?

I still hope that they announce a wii version. I don't see why not.

I am sad that you cannot appreciate the beauty of it because it did deprive you of something pretty nice. But it seems to be easier to harp along endlessly about faults instead of seeing the great things in ambitious projects.

Because of this we get so many "Play it safe" remakes of the same tired games. The 100th Mario the 97th FPS. Games that rehash the same gameplay elements over and over again. The modern approach: Do not dare anything so you cannot do something wrong. If you rather play those I hope you have fun.

I never said Assassin's Creed was not ambitious or an amazing and original experience. In fact, it may well have been 2007's most ambitious project. But there's a huge difference between ambitious and quality. Red Steel, No More Heroes, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Lost Odyssey, they're all pretty ambitious yet they all somehow fail to deliver on so many fronts to be considered " the best game of XXXX ".  I have actually played and enjoyed Assassin's Creed for hours but in my opinion, Ubisoft kinda dropped the ball here while they could have made something legendary. They focused so much on the presentation of the game, that they forgot what's important on such a game... PS: And, really, have a look at my games collection, most of them are certainly not "Play it safe" games. I really love and support new and fresh ideas and projects like Zack & Wiki, Little Big Planet, Super Stardust, Rayman Raving Rabbids, etc.

I am buying the PC version...
