I made this thread because according to some people the mayority of people who bought a Wii only did it because it is the "cool system" to own this gen. For me this statement is completely false.I bought I win on January on this year, because I realise it's potential,it's userbase is rapidly growing.So I saw the Wii as a console DS,In my opinion I expect the Wii to have a  slightly lower third party support than the DS(still that is very good).So for me big userbase equals tons of quality games(alongside shovelware but still).I also have notice than the most of the people who bought a Ps2 last gen are buying a Wii this gen.

It was a Nintendo product. ;)

But more seriously, because it was going to have awesome games on it and the new control style interested me.

Because the motion controls looked cool.

I bought it because I saw a console that had the potential to provide the most fun I've ever had gaming.

So far it's help up it's end of the bargain pretty damn well too.

I bought it for WiiFit (seriously).

The motion controls and the fact that it excited my non-gaming friends so I'd actually have people to play local multiplayer games with!

In order to buy a console I have to have enough games to justify the price. If there are enough games that I want to equal the price of the console then I buy it.

There are six games on that list (minus Wii Sports), so $50*6 = $300 which is great than $250 so I bought the console.

Because it's Nintendo! Oh and they announced Brawl at some point so I was very excited.

And the Wiimote looked like a great concept. Fortunately, it is. It has so much potential to be the best controller for certain genres.
